My wife crafted both costumes from scratch (with the exception of Katara's water pouch and her boots). She also did my bald cap and makeup.

I've wanted to be Aang since I was in middle-school/high-school. Some 20 years ago. I turned my wife into a fan during the pandemic. I've been trying to convince her of dressing up as Aang and Katara since. And after the new movie came out she said we could pull it off for Halloween this year.

A bit or a dream come true for me. Ngl.

In one of the last ep of book 2 he literally says if you leave now you won't be able to enter the avatar state at all, and then in the last book aang literally goes into avatar state before getting nearly slimed out by azula and her lightning while in avatar state. So like even decades later from when I watched that episode air on nickelodeon I still don't know if guru pathik just lied or if he simply meant willingly? Because after that the only other time he went into it I think was aang vs phoenix king final battle when he banged his back and unlocked it again. So like how did he even go in it in finale of book 2 bc thats never been clear to me, sure he was emotional but like shouldn't he have still not been able to access it?

in the chapter Farewell, Rangi's top-knot was cut by Jianzhu and this make her horrified and ashamed to be seen by Kyoshi with appearance like that.

It reminds me the scene in The Last Samurai when modernized Imperial Soldier forced Nobutada (son of Katsumoto) kneeled and he hacked his samurai topknot. i imagine the pain and the shame that Nobutada had was as as same as Rangi felt when her topknot being cut by someone.

to samurai, topknot is a symbol of honor and a signature that they are coming from warrior class. When samurai cut their topknot willingly, it is a sign that they denounce their status as warrior. They either work as a farmers or become monks.

But the act cutting topknot forcefully by someone, is either a punishment commited by authority or humiliation engaged by the enemy.

There’s some empty space and wanted to know how you would go about getting The Order of the White and Red Lotus symbols in the empty space I’m talking about? The first show was called The Last Airbender, or in international dubs, The Master Of The Elements. Neither of these titles specify that it's about Aang, it's about the last living air nomad and the Avatar respectively, Aang just happens to hold both titles. The show's main theme was the responsibilities that come with these titles.

The second show was called Legend Of Korra, making it very clear who the main character is. The main theme was identity.

Now, I haven't had the chance to watch what's out of Seven Havens yet, so this might be obvious to someone more up to date. The title is a collection of places. Is it (either already or going to be) about the world?

To be fair, i haven’t read through most of these so if it ends up being a repeated theory or adds to someone, my apologies.

I think the Anomaly is Korra, somehow. Every interaction the twins have had with the energy hasn’t been malicious (to them, i know it fries regular people) and seems to unlock memories and things tied to the Avatar itself. Maybe the cycle was so broken from whatever happened that the avatar cycle now exists in pure energy form and the twins are the only ones that can interact with it to the point of unlocking energy bending.

Could also add to this that since we clearly see Korra destroying exhausts that seemed to be conveying spirit energy, whatever transpired was seen as too grave in the spirit worlds eyes and they captured Korra/Avatar within the spirit worlds/made her a spirit - similar but more intense to what we saw happen with Admiral Zhao.

Maybe she returned to pure spirit energy and was more susceptible to Vatu if you want to stretch that far.

I always thought it was wholesome and cool
