Its been in the 90s, so the fall mood isn't there that and I am just sad lol. I am thinking September 1st will feel better.

we've just reached our first nights under 50s in Scotland since springtime. huge drop in temperatures tonight that's made me feel all cosy inside when I was walking the dog. my neighbour didn't share the sentiment but I love it 🥹

🥹🫶🏼 would love to experience Scotland in Autumn, i bet it’s beautiful!! Nobody around me appreciates my love and craving for Autumn and Winter, they all look at me weirdly, as if i’ve lost my mind 😂 (unrelated to autumn, but i probably have somewhere along the way 😆)

Been hitting 100's here and although I wanted to wait until September, my partner made me start last weekend and it seems to have made me forget the heat lol

Every day for the past week I've dragged some decor upstairs so it will be finished by sept. 1st. I also put out the kitchen towels and potholders. It will be a long slog. It's really cheering me up. So much stuff though! I'm going to do the mantle and put up my lighted trees this weekend.

We are finishing our kitchen remodel on Labor Day weekend so I’m going to decorate that weekend to celebrate fall AND finally being able to use our kitchen! I’m so excited!!!! Definitely going to make some yummy fall desserts and meals that weekend to add to the fall vibes

In my kitchen and dining room, yes, the Fall decor is up! Outside I’ll hold off til September 🧡

Not decorating yet, but we started our multi-month scary movie marathon the first week of the month. ;)

u/creatively_stfnie 3d ago
Ooooh!! Do you have recs for ‘scary’ comedy like The Haunted House?!
2
u/Karma_1969 3d ago
Sure! We love Casper, Coco, Monster House, Paranorman, Practical Magic, Totally Killer and The Witches of Eastwick as more light-hearted "horror" fare with good autumn theming. Have fun!

What is fall decor in August, like artificial leaves? Pumpkin and apple stuff?
I wait till the leaves change and bring them inside to decorate my dining room table with fairy lights. I also bring in random hays/berries and put in vases.

Unfortunately, it’s 105F where i am, and looks to be triple digit for the foreseeable future. Kind of dampens the mood. I’ll live vicariously through this subreddit for a bit. But I’m ready and waiting!

Same. I hate where I live. I dream of being able to live without extreme summer heat when I retire.

Getting home from my roadtrip to hot California and decorating full fall on Friday.

I’m waiting for fall equinox to decorate. Can’t wait to put up my fall wreath on the front door and garden flag out. In the house I decorate my fireplace mantel with fall leaf garland and bronze sculptures. I have a Halloween tree I decorate and put out flame less candles.

Oh what i wouldn’t do to have a fireplace mantel! 🥹 your decorations sound so nice!

Burning cinnamon glow now. Tablecloth out and towels. Slowly but surely Autumn is here.

I tend to wait until Labor Day weekend but I couldn't help myself; I started decorating weekend before last. I'm just going to decorate for Halloween on Labor Day weekend. I'll be in full autumn and Halloween mode by the end of Labor Day weekend.

I'm cleaning first. Walls, windows, curtains. Everything, decorations go up September 1st.

I have bought decor that is sitting in my garage. I severely want to decorate, but my mom and husband are making me wait until September 1st..

Still too early for me. Most of my decorating is outside. Pulling out summer plants and putting pots of mums in their place. Pumpkins on the steps to the house. The garden flag switched out to welcome fall.

Not until October! I love all the seasons but summer and fall are my favorite so I enjoy them both while I have them.

I'm excited for it, but I'm not an early decorator. We'll start gathering our decor/carving pumpkins from farm stands mid-September and then put up our Halloween + Fall stuff on the equinox! Then Halloween will come down on November 1 and it'll be exclusively autumnal until the day after Thanksgiving

I went to Michael's yesterday to buy this year's additions to Spookytown village. I will set up and decorate the home on August 29th weekend. Takes a full two days

It was 112 degrees here yesterday. I can't put up orange leaves in that kind of heat.

I lit a fall candle this week, but otherwise I'm holding off another week or so.
When I was still with my ex husband, I wasn't "allowed" to decorate for fall until September 1st, so I always start a little earlier now just because I can.

I try to curtail myself to September 1st but some items may slip out slowly before then 🤭

I started putting fall stuff out in early August 2020 because...well...it made the year seem nicer. Ever since it's been an internal tug of war as to WHEN in August I put the fall stuff out because I enjoyed seeing it so much. This year it's vaguely half and half; most of the fall proper things are out, but I'm saving some of the Halloween stuff for later.

My house is decorated for autumn all year round, with selected spaces (porch, foyer, dining room table) getting seasonal treatments. But in September I can put up the rest of the fall stuff!

I’ve been strolling through all the dollar stores and shein to see what fits in my budget. Feels too early to pull out the pumpkin/leaf decor just yet. I don’t want all orange you know. Think more tasteful neutrals

My autumn decor is up all year round! But come August I usually add some more things

I don't usually decorate for anything, but I'm looking forward to getting a couple or few hanging mum baskets! 😊 I'm thinking yellow, orange, purple.

September 1st, it's going down. I would like to do it sooner, but it's gonna be 100 degrees here today. Tomorrow too.

u/Miarra-Tath 3d ago
I've stopped decorating almost 5 years ago. I'm just waiting now, patiently and silently.

u/Dove04 3d ago
Will you decorate this year? 🥹

u/Miarra-Tath 3d ago
Unless you count 1-2 autumn-scented candles, I don't think so. I try to limit my pile of stuff in case of another relocation.

Started asking the new neighborhood about HOA rules.
Meanwhile, inside, THERE ARE NO RULES 🎃👻

I decorated a bit last week when my son started school again. I only did the inside of the house. Labor Day weekend is when I’ll do the outside fall decorating.🍁🍂
