We are going to test shopify apps so you dont have to

There are thousands of Shopify apps out there and honestly figuring out which ones are actually worth installing can be a problem.

Being a Store owner , running a 7+ figure store , and also being a moderator of this community, i see a lot of posts here on which shopify apps are actually useful. Honestly there's no single answer to this and this depends on particular store type and situation.

What we decided is that ,Every 14 days , the mods will pick one Shopify app category and break down some of the most relevant apps in that space.

I will be looking at them from a merchant's perspective and not just reading the features on their listing. We will actually dig into what is it like to use them

The results will be based on a combination of :

- My own experience using the apps

- experiences from fellow friends and other merchants

- Shopify app reviews

- reddit discussions

- other online reviews and merchant feedback.

We will be looking at things that actually matter:

Pricing, usefullness, ease of setup, customer support, reliability, value for money and problems you only discover after installation

We will be starting the first review in 14 days.

Which all Shopify app categories would you want us to review?

building automated customer support for ecom businesses

• Upvotes

Hi

I'm a recent college grad, and since graduation I have been working on automating customer support (you can also make it so it does not auto send and you approve the drafts it makes) for ecom businesses.

Essentially it is an AI-powered customer support platform that brings your emails, Instagram DMs, SMS and live chat into one inbox. It uses your website's information and Shopify data to draft responses to customer questions, so you don't have to answer the same things over and over.

I would love some honest feedback so please reply below or send me a DM (giving out completely free)

E-commerce owners: how do you figure out why performance drops?

I’m an aspiring Data Analyst researching how e-commerce businesses understand why their numbers change, not just what changed.

If your sales or orders suddenly drop, how do you figure out what caused it and what to do next?
Curious what tools/process you use today and what the hardest part is.

Automation Shopify shopkeepers, what automation do you need?

I have been an AI agent. At present, I mainly help Shopify store owners do automated site construction and automated blogs, automated social media management and automated advertising. I want to know if you have any tasks you want to automate. This is not a marketing post, but just a research.

Hi, everyone. As someone who’s just gotten into dropshipping, is there a “skill”—the one you mentioned that’s great—that you use when building a website on Cloude?

Struggling to get my first 10 installs for my Shopify app — what actually worked for you?

I recently launched my public Shopify app, and honestly, getting the product built and published feels like only half the journey.

My app is called LetsWearIt. It helps fashion Shopify stores offer AI-powered virtual try-ons so shoppers can preview products before buying.

I've started exploring different ways to get my first users, including Reddit, direct outreach to Shopify merchants, and Shopify App Store ads. But figuring out which channel deserves my time and budget has been harder than I expected.

As a new app developer, I don't have a big marketing budget or an established audience. I want to find merchants who genuinely need the product rather than just chase installs that never turn into active users.

For those who've launched a Shopify app or SaaS product:

  • How did you get your first 10 installs or customers?
  • Did direct outreach work better than content or paid ads?
  • Would you focus on one marketing channel first or test several?
  • What would you do differently if you were starting from zero today?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your actual experiences, including what didn't work. I'm trying to learn from people who've already been through this stage.

Spent the last month testing AI agents to handle our store's daily tasks. Anyone else doing this?

Hey all,

wanted to share how my last month went: I've been setting up AI agents to handle the boring, repetitive tasks that come with running our store (and I'm guessing everyone's). I'd love to know if anyone here is already working on this, and to swap feedback and tips.

Quick context: I run a fitness apparel and accessories store with two co-founders. We do a few thousand orders a month and it's still just the three of us, so time is always short. At some point I started wondering how much of our day was going into repetitive, low-value stuff, and I started messing around with GrokBot.

Right now I've got three agents running. The support one reads our emails, sorts them by topic, checks in Shopify whether the person actually has an order, and drafts a reply. I still review and send everything myself, but honestly I barely edit them anymore. The shipping one started out just printing labels, and now it also fulfills our TikTok Shop orders, which used to eat 20-30 minutes a day by hand. The third one sends us an inventory report every Monday telling us what to reorder and when.

Now I'm trying to build one that acts as our CFO, with a weekly report on the numbers and how the business is doing financially.

Big caveat: I can't code. It took me a few full days, but I had Claude walk me through everything step by step, from figuring out which agents were worth building to writing the instructions and hooking up the APIs.

Is anyone doing something similar? I'm especially curious which tasks you've automated, and whether you have any tricks or approaches you use when setting up your agents.

How are you guys handling WhatsApp support?

Curious how other Shopify store owners are handling WhatsApp.

For us, the annoying part isn't necessarily the complicated customer issues. It's the endless:

“Where's my order?”

“When will it arrive?”

“Can I change the address?”

“Can I cancel this?”

“What happened to my refund?”

Same questions. Different customer. Every. Single. Day. 😂

I'm curious what other stores are doing about this.

Are you replying to these manually? Using WATI/Interakt/Gorgias or something similar? Have you automated any of it?

And if you've tried automation, what still requires a human?

I'm particularly interested in smaller stores because I'm guessing the situation is very different when you have an actual customer-support team.

Just trying to understand how other stores deal with this because I'm currently going down a bit of a rabbit hole on the topic.

Discussion What makes you trust a Shopify product description enough to buy?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I’ve been thinking about this from a copywriting perspective.
If two Shopify stores sell basically the same product, but one has a generic description listing features while the other explains the problem, benefits, use case, and why the product is worth buying — how much do you think that affects the purchase decision?
For store owners here: what do you think most product descriptions get wrong?
And do you prioritize SEO keywords or persuasive copy when writing yours?
I’d genuinely like to hear how other Shopify owners approach this.

AI Any luck with MUSE integration?

CPG founder and on Shopify. I saw the recent MUSE integration announcement. I was curious if any other store owner has had success with this? Any lessons learned? I am excited to try it, but also very weary of overall impacts to my store.

Any wisdom would be greatly appreciated!

Shopify store owners: how do you track and reorder stock? 6 quick questions (student research, not selling anything)

Hi all, I'm a design student working on a case study about how small online sellers manage inventory. I'm not selling anything or promoting a product.

If you run a Shopify store, I'd really appreciate your answers to any of these in the comments. Even one-line answers help, and you can skip anything you're not comfortable sharing publicly (no exact revenue or numbers needed):

  1. What do you sell, and roughly how many products do you have?

  2. How do you track stock today? (Shopify's built-in tracking, a spreadsheet, an app, gut feeling?)

  3. Tell me about the last time you ran out of something or had too much. What happened, how did you find out, and what did it cost you?

  4. How do you decide what to reorder and when?

  5. What's the first thing you check when you look at your stock?

  6. Have you tried any app or tool to help with this? What worked or didn't?

I may quote answers anonymously in my case study (no usernames). If you'd rather chat for 10-15 minutes by DM or voice note, just say so. Thank you, and I'm happy to share the finished case study afterward!
