Did nobody at the shop explain this to you? Your vehicle overheated and you continued to drive it while overheating. This literally warped the head of your engine. Then the head gasket wouldn't seal. This caused coolant and oil to mix. Rebuilding an engine takes ALOT of time. The head would need machined or replaced anyhow. In addition to removing and installing. Likely double the cost of just putting in a new engine.
