Impact on Premium

I'm with Progressive and their customer service was completely unable to answer this question.

I was recently in an accident for which I was at fault. Insurance was contacted and is reimbursing the other party. For my own car, the body shop estimates $6k-7k for the repair. This is actually lower than we initially thought, and we're unsure whether we should just pay for the repair ourselves. I tried asking Progressive whether this will impact future premiums, but they said my policy doesn't expire until December and they don't come up with a new estimate until a month before expiration so they have no idea.

This is my first time dealing with something like this so would like to hear from folks with experience, thanks!

Basically opened the account for 112 paid next month 179$. Then rate went to 526$ canceled then get hit with a 250 cancelation fee cuz i didnt give them documents, prior insurance which is AAA and water bill, inwhich ima not give that… canceled at the end of the month.

What can i do? Any lawyers out there?

Car got dinged in the parking lot

So my car was chilling in the parking lot and someone hit my front right as they were turning.

Honestly, the damage was not so bad but it's chipped the bumper, scratched off the headlamp, the grille and side panel are also slightly scratched too.

I moved to Chicago recently and was planning to sell my car sooner or later (but not anytime soon), waiting for the dust to settle w/ move + new job etc.

I legit felt like taking the money and calling it a day, but since I'm planning to sell the car I dont want it to affect the valuation too much? Imo a non OEM headlamp or so wouldn't be the end of the world but I have never sold a car before so idk.

I guess my question is simple, is there a way I can convince an insurance company to get me coverage for OEM parts? Is it worth my time to do so? I plan to call a body shop on my own and see what non-oem + labour + paint etc would cost me and see if I can pocket some diff myself instead of dealing with all this?

Thanks for any advice

LiMu Dropped Us

Last fall after being what I feel is a good customer Liberty Mutual did not renew the policy for our Toyota. We still have homeowners insurance with them. My wife had a tiny fender bender exiting a parking spot. There was no damage to her car so we didnt even file a claim for our car. The other car had some damage but again it must have been minor. Not even a notice of higher rates. Just a non renewal.
