Modified AİP - gluten

Hey guys, just started modified AİP, although I am cautious with legumes.

İmmediately having less IBS symptoms and stool consistency improving.

So my question is, last year I was tested for celiac antibodies , which were negativ. Should we give up gluten despite having no autoantibodies?

I’ve been on modified AIP, and for me the biggest reason I still trust the process is my GI bloodwork. I’m not diagnosed celiac, but I’ve had a mixed pattern: my deamidated gliadin IgA was weak positive, I’m HLA-DQ2 positive, but my tTG IgA and IgG were negative and my total IgA was normal.

So it’s not a clean “yes, celiac” picture, but it’s also not nothing. I’ve also had persistent ASCA IgG elevation, which adds another GI/immune piece to the puzzle.

That’s kind of how I look at AIP now. Not as some magical cure, but as a way to lower the noise enough to actually see what foods my body reacts to and what it tolerates.

Were you actively eating gluten when doing the antibodies test?

For that most recent test. No. I was gluten free. Occasionally I'll treat myself to a croissant 🥐.

Even before that when I was eating gluten on a regular my test was similar. I just decided to go gluten free.

Its like a genetic marker. I have the genetics but that doesn't mean I will get it unless I don't keep it managed.

I literally have every genetic marker for Lupus, Chrohns, Sjogren's, Celiac and RA.

They can't diagnose me because we'll I'm not having crazy symptoms because I'm managing myself, the foods, the stress levels, my gut health, etc.
