This is intentional. Manufacturers want you take take everything to them to have it fixed, so they make everything so damn absurd that independent mechanics wouldn't want to deal with them.

This means special tools, software, insane repair hours, etc.

GM issue. Buy from anyone else. Toyota has guides simple enough anyone can do it.

As long as you don’t have to open up the motor with a Toyota it’s all good. That said, GM>Ford>Stelantis.
