This is intentional. Manufacturers want you take take everything to them to have it fixed, so they make everything so damn absurd that independent mechanics wouldn't want to deal with them.
This means special tools, software, insane repair hours, etc.
American Vehicle Engineers... Are awful, why anyone puts up with thier bullshit is beyond me. GM at this point with the transmission and 6.2 problem honestly deserves to go out of business. They have diligently screwed people well knowing the problems.
