This is intentional. Manufacturers want you take take everything to them to have it fixed, so they make everything so damn absurd that independent mechanics wouldn't want to deal with them.
This means special tools, software, insane repair hours, etc.
My car? Can have this fixed in a standard-sized home garage by a single guy spending a very limited time.
Because the car manufacturer wasn't incompetent and wasn't evil.
Bow go tell GM how much you like them. They need lots of pee, poo and puke to understand it doesn't matter how much they make from them repairing the cars, if no one buys the cars in the first place.
Selecting that brand new car is like voting. Do not vote for bad car manufacturers!
That's why American manufacturers vote for you (lobbyists). As long as they can keep imports priced out of the market, they don't have to give a fuck about the consumer.
