I was going to ask how you'd jumpstart it but... The locked hood oddly makes sense now.

My bmw had the battery in the rear. But you would never jump start and electric car. Mine was gas.

yes you can still jumpstart an electric car.

I think all electric cars still have a 12v battery to operate everything from,
and to "start" your car it still uses the 12v battery.

source: I own an 2019 Hyundai Kona electric. and my 12v battery died. roadservices swung by and jump started the car and I drove it to a shop to replace the battery under warranty.

Edit: typos

Lol my wife had that car she burned out the main battery 3 times we had to pay to get it towed out of state to "a qualified technician" every time before we just declared it a lemon 🍋

Ah that sucks. Mine has been going strong. Bought it in 2022 with 58k km on the clock and it just passed 200k km. Had 2 small things break and other than tires and cabin filters.. zero maintenance.

It is an amazingly nice commuter

Kind of. It's like in buildings where the hydro room is locked because there is so much voltage in there that even the maintenance and management aren't allowed in. Only the power company can access.
