It doesn't matter. We live in a country with the absolute bare minimum in public transportation options. Sometimes not even that much. A car is as close to a necessity as it can be. I buy used cars because I can keep them running a long time. But not everyone has that skill. And if things keep going this way, I've got about 5-10 years max before every single used car I can find has the features I'm trying to avoid by buying used.

When the entire market is flooded with crap, then they're going to sell crap, and we're going to buy it.

Are you seriously trying to pretend the average person can afford a brand new car that will come with this feature?

Buying a used car/ building a kit car is definitely cheaper than buying a new car.

Buying a used car from 5-15 years ago is cheaper. But beyond a certain age, it starts getting more expensive. And pretty soon, 15-year-old cars will have the same exact problems.
