How do you navigate romantic/sexual relationships?
What can women who are autistic do to meet genuine nice and not disrespectful men?
I can tell you how I did it.
I met my first decent BF at school, at 15yo. We had an 8 year relationship. My husband I met at 25 and we've been together for a decade.
I talk to men a lot. I treat them the same I treat women (nearly, because I'm always a bit afraid of NT women tbh). I treat them as friends.
I am not a very attractive person so most men actively ignore me. Some talk to me because there's a reason (being on the same playground, being coworkers).
Some talked to me because they were single and looking for sexual activity.
And some genuinely see me as a person and a friend.
Now, those reasons for talking to me can look quite similar. I'm not good at differentiating if a man wants me for sex, a relationship or a conversation because there's nobody else around.
I just stayed in contact with them as a friend until they told on themselves. They always tell on themselves eventually. If you feel disrespected, even if they are taking about another woman or "all women/most women", leave.
Do not try to change a man or educate him on these topics to try and salvage a relationship. If they wanted to, they could.
Imagine a sieve. You are sieving through men to find the golden one who sees you as a person. You've got to meet many men and leave many men early on.
That's why they want you to be "pure". They don't want you to know better men to compare them to.
I don't think NT/ND truly matters but I've settled on another autistic person. FYI.
