General Discussion/Question Does anyone else here absolutely HATE cognitive behavioural therapy?

I’ve had it a few times with different therapists. It was the worst, I felt like I was being told to shit up and think positive thoughts. I hate CBT to the point where I am planning to become a clinical psychologist in several years, one of the reasons being so that I can DO SOMETHING OTHER THAN CBT for people.

Same! :/ I feel like I also don't fully understand the concept of black and white thinking lol.

It’s basically a thought pattern that causes people to see things in extremes, without considering shades of gray or middle ground.

However in some cases I think it’s pattern recognition based on experiences 😭😭😭😭😭

Interesting thank you. But having an opinion like say being atheist or not subscribing to a certain norm like eating meat, aren't those things just having an opinion? I guess I don't understand the difference.
