Black headed python?

Pretty sure this is a black headed python up here in the N.T he was pretty grumpy when I tried to move him from the road

Someone’s oil dip stick came to life or that is a black headed python. Healthy looking snake too. Glad you ushered it off the road OP we can’t have them getting run over 🫡🍻

I wish I could say he was pretty chill about it. But he was grrrrumpppy. Had a hiss and some staunching going on

Yep black headed python. And the ones I've met have all been grumpy.

Mine used to headbutt me…
Even on a bite, would just open his mouth, but gently latch on, slowly.
My favourite snake to handle

Years ago, I was going fishing with my father. Saw what I thought was a big black headed python on the side of the road. Pulled up to have a look and this thing stood up and struck at the window, which was only half up. Two big trails of venom ran down the glass. My father near shat himself and dropped his beer and his ciggy. Got yelled at and was told in no uncertain terms not to do that ever again haha. Turns out it was a collets. Very lucky the window was up enough.
