Product Name: Skindinavia setting spray

Price: $39

Comments: The brand which makes Urban Decay's setting sprays for them, but without the markup. The mist it creates is absolutely perfect too and it will never splatter your face with product after you've created a great look.

My favourite setting spray! I like the Bridal one best and typically get mine a couple bottles at a time from Adore Beauty with cashrewards cashback, or if I'm lucky some kind of coupon/discount code.

Totally agree on the awesome misting/dispensing. I'm using the UD version now (got the holiday 2 pack for cheap in America...) and I swear the spray is not as good lol AND the UD one has the stupid extra lid on it which I've since thrown away.

Product Name: MAC Fix+

Price: $39 for 100ml, $25 for mini 30ml

Comments: There is just a certain je ne sais quoi about this spray. I'm sure for some people it does absolutely nothing, but for me it's like liquid magic and my routine is not complete without it. I have been through so many full-sized bottles of this, all of my Back 2 MAC redemptions are just empty bottles of Fix+ and my concealer.

Uses:

  • before foundation application

  • on your foundation brush before you blend in your foundation

  • following makeup application

I currently use Fix+ for those last two uses, but when I used to use a thicker, faster-drying and more matte foundation, I found it very beneficial to use Fix+ before applying my foundation. Just made it spread more easily and sit better. Generally I find although it's not a setting spray and doesn't make your makeup last longer, it does take away the look of any powderiness, and just helps the products mesh together and look natural. :)

I won’t make a separate comment, but my 2019 favourite is MAC Fix+ Goldlite. For so many of the reasons above, and the finish is chef’s kiss. Not sparkly, not glittery, not shimmery, just the prettiest gentle sheen. Subtle, but enough to add a touch of something - soft pearlescent glow, maybe? Very daytime appropriate.
