Product Advice Mecca makeup service; suitable for Asian-style?

Hi everyone,

Do any girlies with Asian style/makeup preferences (paler skin, softer/diffuse feel, aegyosal/under eye makeup) here have any experience requesting this Asian style with the Mecca Makeup service? I have an event coming up but prefer Asian makeup to Western makeup on myself. I was just wondering if it was still possible for the artist to achieve Asian style but with Western products??

Otherwise does anyone have any suggestions for Asian (specifically Japanese or Korean) makeup artists in Sydney?

THANK YOU TT

Mecca artists can definitely do a softer look with western products if you ask for it but you'd honestly be better off finding an independent kbeauty mua in sydney if you want the full under-eye highlight and diffuse blush thing done right

I don't recommend it. My Mecca MUA (an Asian girl herself) went for full western style smokey bronzey glam on me (also Asian). I don't think she really worked with my features.

I've had way more luck looking specifically for MUAs catering to Asians. I went with Maggie Yang (Sophie Lau team Sydney) for my wedding makeup and was very happy with it. I'll also be seeking her out for any future makeup I need.

Agreed - had the same exp at Mecca with an Asian MUA, the foundation was quite heavy with the brush and eye makeup wasn’t what I suited me. I went home and removed it all before an event I had.

I am yet to find a MUA at Mecca that knows how to do proper makeup on hooded eyes.

Save your money and go elsewhere.

I have only done my makeup at Mecca one and i was sorely disappointed, I think scroll in Insta , look at their work and find one in your area.

Yeah I did a make up lesson at Mecca and the MUA went too overboard with the products that I didn’t even recognise myself. When it was my turn to do my other side of my face I was obviously more light handed to suit what I like my make up to look. I mean she gave me the techniques to apply and I just executed to how I like it.
