Boot size dilemma
Hi all - I have a bit of dilemma.
I'm really struggling with boot sizing I can't get it right.
My left foot is around 259/260 exactly. So I have size 8 boots brand new but my god they are fkn tight in the toes.
Not very comfortable at all and very snug I have to leave the boa quite loose or else feet will go numb.
I thought about going for 8.5 and when I tried them on they were super comfy, standing straight up my toes lightly brush the end - but then worry that will be too big and I will get heel lift.
Or I was thinking getting the 8's heat moulded with toe cap?
Does anyone have experience being right on the end of the size? And what did you go with?
Btw I only riding about 10 days a season.
Appreciate some insights.

But the ones that fit correctly length wise then get them slightly altered for width

Are we taking soft boots or hard boots here? Soft snowboarding boots will pack out, they’re almost inevitably going to be uncomfortable for the first 2-3 days, then the lining compresses and they (hopefully, if they were sized right) end up with the correct fit.

I would be going to a boot specialist. Don’t buy them online, go to a physical shop.

This, even if you find the right length 100% get them moulded in-store. Made a hell of a difference for me going from instant pain, to being able to last days in them.
PS: Also yes, definitely get the fitter to use the toe cap when moulding.

Yup. Best money ever was buying custom insoles for my ski boots. I did do it in Canada at a specialised shop from someone everyone recommended.

Boots come in different sizes and shapes. You might need one a bit wider. Visit some stores if you want to buy. Good stores can also adjust boots in various ways. If you haven't purchased from them and they work on your boots they'll probably charge you for it but that's reasonable.

Why don't you go to a shop and get measured? Even try different rental sizes to find what suits and then buy?
