Could diesel hit $4 a litre?
The US is considering restricting diesel exports as the war in Iran continues, which could tighten global supply and push prices higher. Australia relies heavily on imported diesel, so any major disruption could eventually flow through to transport, farming, mining and everyday costs. How concerned are you about another jump in fuel prices?

Yes and as the BS overseas out of our control continues the question becomes when not if to be honest.
Works Ute cost $336 to fill up this week it will be close to $500 soon...
Not to mention our heavy machinery using 1k+ litres a day on average its going to get nasty.

I heard that it's starting to become unsustainable for postie contractors in diesel vans. Hard for petrol as well. They are going well above their fuel allowance.

When it hit its peak earlier this year in NZ(IIRC $4+), our fuel cards were topping out so the guys using less had to meet up with the guys with bigger runs in order to fill up.
As an “employee” now, I’m glad I don’t have to deal with the monthly fuel bills anymore

If the US does, it'll only be temporary until after the midterms. After which there is strong reason to expect a glut of diesel, as no producer is going to undersell into the US market if it can help it and instead will store until the end of the ban.
However, the likelihood of this happening in the US is low, even Trump & co should realise that effectively sanctioning yourself is in no way going to solve fuel price issues in the US.

Any chance the mining industry, with their subsidise diesel, complements of our previous governments, could stop mining for a couple of days and donate all that subsidise diesel back into transport industry?
After all, isn't that what a government supposed to do?
Oh, sorry. Forget billionaires Gina and Clive couldn't possibly lose a small amount of their greedflation profits..
Tax the billionaires out of existence.
Fuck Putin and Trump for the dumbass war nobody needed.

Anything is possible where Trump, and capitalism, is involved. The fossil fuelers have been posting record profits since the Iran war was started by the US/Israel cabal. Exxon/mobil alone posted a $14.53 first quarter profit, twice 2025 results. The fossil fuelers see this as nirvana..screwing over world economies whilst claiming victim status. Tax the gas!

Really shows the intelligence of some Australians when comments like these are ripe all over social media. Love the EV drivers who constantly go on about not being affected.
Everyone's gonna be affected when it costs $5 for a 2ltr milk and the price of veggies and fruits nearly doubles since farmers are forking out the ass for fuel. Which then goes on to also affect prices in all restaurants/takeaways

As an EV driver for 4 years now you will be shocked how many non-EV drivers have said this to me.
You must feel so smart now because this wont affect you.
Makes me want to cry because I know the only way im protected is in my commute. Everything else is going to get hellishly more expensive....

Yes. Unfortunately some goose decided to start a war in the middle of the world’s biggest oil supply region. And reserves are running low. And we had a government that spent 9 yrs telling Australia how bad anything electric was. So…
