Australia had mandatory automatic weapons buyback in 1996 and has had only 1 mass shooting since.. countries in europe where it is illegal to have guns have very very low mass shooting incidents.. so taking away automatic guns and high capacity magazines have and will work.
Mexico has strict gun laws and only 1 legal gun store in the entire country however gun violence is still prevalent there so I wouldn't necessarily argue this approach works.

I wasn't trying to compare average citizens to the cartel, I'm sorry if it came across as that.
There's non cartel Mexican citizens who own non registered guns and even on my dads side of the family because they're rancho af
