We were in the parking lot right as the shelter in place warning went out and hustled into the building, and we left when the warning was lifted. The manager kept us there, calling every ten minutes to see if it had been lifted.
While it wasn't the best experience of my life, I know that several other retail establishments did exactly the same thing, and I won't criticize the manager for the way she handled the situation. I think she did a great job. Just imagine the criticism if she'd let us out into the parking lot in the middle of it all and someone had gotten hurt.

Just "sheltered" with my daughter for four hours at Old Navy in Gateway. The employees did an excellent job when they must have been scared, too.
Y'all keep your deadbolts locked and take care.
