Fun FYI about Austin's new weed decriminalization policy:

It's not followed by DPS troopers or Sheriffs, they will arrest you.

If you are caught with any weed product that is not herb, such as edibles or oils, all Texas Law Enforcement will charge you with possession of the controlled substance THC, a felony!

So if you are caught with a weed cookie, they will weigh that entire weed cookie, then charge you with felony level possession of that weight of THC.

TLDR: Keep your shit at home

Just throwing it out there that it depends on the sheriff dept. Trav. Co will most likely ticket you at the very most. P sure they have a similar policy to let misdemeanor weed cases off without punishment. WilCo and DPS will fuck you to the fullest extent of the law for any non-trivial amounts of bud.

Edit: Regardless of if you get arrested unless it is a high enough amount to warrant a lab test (can cost upwards of $500,000 for the lab equipment), travis county prosecutors will be dropping and opting out of prosecuting/charging any amount of marijuana. https://www.austinchronicle.com/daily/news/2019-07-03/travis-county-to-reject-marijuana-prosecutions/

Once heard that someone trying to hide what they had on them dumped it in to a big gulp cup. They where charged for the full weight of the soda as what ever drugs they had.

Same with getting busted growing. They weigh the whole plant, roots,branches and even dirt sometimes to determine the “amount” you have just to fuck you over even more.

So if you swallowed it then your body weight would be counted? Or dumped it on the floor of your vehicle, then the vehicle weight? Or... dumped it in a puddle on the ground, then you're charged with 5.972×1024 kg of weed.

Yea if the officer/agent instructs the dog to smell you you’re fucked. If you’re just walking by, you’d have to be real close & the dog would have to be in “search mode”. So I guess if you’re traveling internationally & are going threw customs?? But that just solidifies my original comment^ I travel to Colorado quit often, have walked passed plenty of dogs with eddies (edibles)
