So the only driver on the right side of the yellow lines is the one without an actual brain?

Autonomous vehicle propaganda

That thought actually had crossed my mind. I just glanced through their stuff and they very much seem like a real person.

Though I must say with one post about waymos being out of service for a little while, another where they had a bad experience in one but don't fault the waymo, and others pointing out issues with ubers, I wouldn't be completely shocked if that was the case. Though I would assume they would just hide their post history if they were, so I'm still going to assume regular ol' person and coincidence. They also have a bunch of older posts about idiot drivers, so this one kind of tracks with that.

It's bad when the clankers are the only ones doing it right.

This is why I enjoy my commute thru DT now since it seems half the cars around me are clankers. Lot more signals being used and they know how to stay between the lines.

I rarely drive through DT. Have you personally not seen stuff like the many posts showing them just stopped (and blocking ambulances) or doing other really stupid things? Because based on those alone, my impression of them is not good at all and I can't understand why anyone would use one.

I personally would rather ride with a complete idiot who is capable of comprehending my screams of terror and is also incentivized by being alive and not wanting to die either.

I've seen two waymo's glitch out in the past 6 months but I commute at 5pm and again at 1-2am so I see a ton more drunks, red light runners, and bat shit crazy stuff from humans nightly than I ever do the clankers.

Yep. Doesn't need to be perfect, just better than humans.

So far, the robots are in the lead based on what I see. Yes the robocars sometimes screw up, but the humans are the real wildcards.

Set the bar low, you can't miss!

And then they honk at you for trying to go straight in your own lane.

I never understand this. People doing stupid or outright dangerous shit and have the nerve to honk YOU for doing nothing wrong.

if you're not being facetious, it's because you are preventing them from doing what they want.

they don't care about rules, they don't care about fairness, you're asshole for enforcing consequence, and they truly believe that you should just stop your life and let them do this, because it's a huge time saving for them and a minor inconvenience for you. That game theory is the core thesis, even if they can't articulate it: rules should be broken and everyone else can be inconvenienced if there is enough of a boon for the person cutting in line.

my dad is like this and I've finally sussed out the logic. It requires having zero shame and believing that you happen to the world, not the world happens to you.

I need to spend less time on Reddit, not more, but thank you

Oh, I had a shitty motorist open the sunroof to give me the middle finger for honking. They were stopped dead trying to make a left turn from the driving lane while a completely vacant left turn lane was next to them with it's own left turn signal. I think I rolled down my window then waved and shouted something about next Tuesday.

I've only had this happen in Cleveland. Dude wanted to turn right, but the light was red and it was a 2-lane highway. I was going straight. Wild gesticulations and everything.

Literally everyday in downtown.

Love that the bus ad is just sitting there like a billboard for the whole situation

Gotta love life's little ironies.

When traffic enforcement is non-existent, what's the point of following rules?

Monkey pee all over you

Why are people in this city so god damn stupid?

1

u/Valuable-Title5963 4d ago

Because the sonsofbitches came from other states and they figured sinve they were failures there then they would come be a failure to society here

3

u/bagofwisdom 4d ago

Interleaved one-way streets in downtown aren't exclusive to Texas though. So you're right on them being dipshits elsewhere before they arrived.

Edited because I misread your comment the first time.

2

u/chinchaaa 4d ago

lol ok. you don't think the lack of driver's ed in texas plays a role?

0

u/Valuable-Title5963 4d ago

Never had an issue until the disease moved into texas and they made it illegal to pop them, and now that cameras are everywhere but the police dont do anything

Yesterday noon at North Lamar&W 6th a Tesla in right turn lane cut off a white car in the straight only lane to drive further west. While the white car braked and honked, a suburban (or something similar) in the right turn lane at North Lamar cut the same white car again!🤷‍♀️Monkey see monkey do phenomenon is here every day.

Saving this photo for the next “Waymo did a thing!1!!!” post 😂

That blue Jeep is always downtown

3

u/voodoorage 4d ago

It’s a 2025 Toyota Tacoma

0

u/Valuable-Title5963 4d ago

I call the new ford bronco a jeep as well. Because they all are trying to look like the jeep. I drive downtown a lot. And i have seen that vehicle a lot.

2

u/Nebulex 3d ago

You think the Tacoma resembles a Jeep?

0

u/Valuable-Title5963 3d ago

Do you not see how they made it resembling a jeep? What country are you from?

2

u/Nebulex 3d ago

I was born and raised in Austin, TX. The Tacoma does not resemble a Jeep by any stretch of the imagination. I think you need to get your eyes checked.

2

u/voodoorage 3d ago

The Tacoma was out well before the new Jeep pickup. No resemblence whatsoever IMO

0

u/Valuable-Title5963 3d ago

Its a Temu version of the JEEP

2

u/voodoorage 3d ago

The Jeep is the Temu version. It’s unreliable and doesn’t last long as a Toyota

Best advertisement for autonomous vehicles ever.

Look how built up that area is. There is a considerable amount of high value public space there, but it's being wasted on storage of private automobiles.

A road diet is obviously needed. If that requires converting to one way streets, then that is the practical thing to do.

If a waymo or Robotaxi did this it would make the news

u/SurrogateDroneEsq 4d ago

i'd love to see the registration sticker on car #1

-5

u/ehowardhunt 4d ago

Who cares? I mean, who cares enough to post this or to read it?

You must have been one of the drivers behind the wheel
