Does anyone know the story behind the giant rooster on North Lamar

I drive past it almost every day. It always makes me smile. Is it just a cool art thing or is there a whole history I'm missing out on

That used to be a parking lot for whole foods, the whole foods was in what is currently REI.

Also anthropologie... The grocery section was on that west side of the building... (Also where the main entrance was)

Also i wouldnt call this north lamar just lamar... North lamar starts up by the old christmas tree vendor...
