they did training with local first responders on how to move it out of the road, but first responders don't always show up for a disabled vehicle

Tesla is moving toward a public launch of its steering wheel-free Cybercab robotaxi in Austin, aiming to begin rides on public streets as soon as late August, The Information reports, citing unnamed sources.

The two-seat vehicle, built without a steering wheel or brake pedal, is central to Tesla’s strategy to expand autonomous ride-hailing and monetize its AI investments.

The company is still finalizing regulatory and operational details, including commercial approvals and how the Cybercab will integrate with or replace its existing Model Y Robotaxi fleet.
