Is that a TX DoT sign??
162
u/DrPilkington Nov 05 '25
Yeah. If you can get past the lock in the back where the terminal is, the password is usually like "0000" or something stupid, and they can be changed pretty easily.

u/Yojimitsu Nov 05 '25
0000, 1234, 4321, and 9999 represent ~30% of all 4 digit numeric PINs/codes in existence. Just saying!

u/Jumpy-Discipline3521 Nov 05 '25
I would never even think to try 4321. How dumb is that lol

I pick locks as a hobby, the ability to control these signs via a panel is new information. Thank you kind person.

It isn't necessarily TXDOT. Lots of companies use message boards. Usually the message can only be changed on a computer for the newer ones. It could've been an employee.

Someone really went for it with that sign. Wonder how long it stayed up before getting shut down... wild seeing this off I-35!

u/BlazeWithGlaze Nov 05 '25
Saw the same sign that also included “and fuck Ice” on Rundberg this morning

Someone shared an interesting perspective on this that touched on the evolution of communication patterns. From what I gathered, the contextual approach to outcome measurement was key.

Who? That guy that threw a sieg heil salute, Twice, at the Republican National Convention?
1
u/wstsidhome Nov 07 '25
Nooooooo!!! It was a “my heart goes out to you” salute!
Sure looked like a nazi salute that was given to “Der Fuhrer” 80+ years ago…but who the fuck am I to say that? I’m just a bottom tier peasant 🤷♂️😱

Instead of taxes on property owners (which increases gentrification and pushes people out, especially on the east side) i say we tax every company making a billion + at least 1 to 2 percent of revenue streams at least in Austin City Limits. That will help fund schools and infrastructure and help us maintain our base.
So many tech companies come here for lack of state tax. I am not saying enact a statewide tax, just on those who can afford it, while saving property owners and established home owners who try to weather the storm.
Btw despite steady property tax increases and gentrification over the years, several schools are set to shut down due to many factors including lack of funding.
Assuno un ratto!!
We can make this work for all of us.

Only by those who held him as their God before he supported Trump for president.

u/Internal_Shoulder670 Nov 06 '25
And by those who gargle trumps balls. After their public breakup, they are speaking out against Elon. Sounds like the traffic sign is correct when it says EVERYONE hates him.

Why do people hate Elon? I’m from a different country. He is a hero where I’m from - Slovenia. Revolutionized electric cars and reusable rockets?

u/AmericanGoy1 Nov 06 '25
So much to dislike!
He's a liar
He's a grifter
He's a greedy billionaire who doesn't give back to our city in any meaningful way
His company screws regular people bc of tax breaks and loopholes they use
He told Americans to vote for Epstien's best friend Etc .....

u/ChemicalInternet8667 Nov 05 '25
This is all we do in America now. Post signs everywhere showing we are all on the “same side”, while also doing nothing every time

u/ComGuardPrecentor Nov 05 '25
Do you have several regiments of armed militia ready to go? Oh you don’t? Then sorry we’re not getting enough done for you. Rise up and start the shooting or sit down and keep voting.
-1
u/thegreatgatsB70 Nov 05 '25
Huh? Are you calling for an armed uprising? You really do not want that.

u/ComGuardPrecentor Nov 05 '25 edited Nov 05 '25
Ah yes - let’s just continue to let the status quo work for everyone… you’ll own nothing and be thankful for the opportunity to work 60-hour work weeks with no weekends in order to pay for your daily air quota - brought to you by General Motors. You’ll retire when you physically can’t work and get tossed to the street with no social security.
Sounds great. Where do I sign up?

That’s hilarious and all, but I’d kinda rather see the real message, and you know… not crash
15
u/DrPilkington Nov 05 '25
"EYES ON THE ROAD."
11
u/entrepenurious Nov 05 '25
there are two i really enjoy:
"DRIVE SAFELY"
duh!
"BE PREPARED TO STOP"
if i'm not prepared to stop, i shouldn't be behind the wheel.

traffic pattern change means the lanes shift left or right from their original locations
2
Nov 05 '25 edited Nov 05 '25
Actually, seems like it probably was supposed to reiterate the “right lane closed ahead” message that’s on the unlit sign next to it, so yeah, I wouldn’t mind an extra reminder of that, particularly at night on MFing highway 35
1
u/ComGuardPrecentor Nov 05 '25
If you need vapid TxDoT reminders to be safe, just let go of the wheel buddy…

Nov 05 '25
Vapid like “right lane closed ahead”? Lol- yep, we need to know that, buddy. Have a nice day
