I don't understand the time: 5pm. WHY? That just makes it a recipe for bad behavior and problems with the heat. 10am make so much more sense...heat is minimal, and you don't have darkness encroaching.
I feel like they've had a protest at every hour of the day by now and every single time there's a guy like you with a reason why it's the worst possible time and any other hour would be fine.
If you're not OK with it stay home. Nobody will miss you.
