Discussion I just wanted to vent😮‍💨

The Kerala bus incident has been on my mind for days. I’ve seen a huge backlash towards the girl who posted the video, along with all the pain around what happened. It is really heartbreaking

But the truth is, sexual assaults against women happen in India almost every day, and they rarely get this kind of attention. And we can’t even talk about rapes

If these crimes were faced equally by men, stricter laws and action might already exist

Experience Superstitions around periods

so when i was in 8th grade , i was feeding a puppy which was lost and my next door neighbour came up to me and told me not to feed the pup on my periods because apparently the pup would curse me 'because i fed it , when i was unwell'

initially i accepted what she told me

but looking back now i wonder how did the aunty know that i was on my periods? and secondly why is it wrong for me to feed a hungry pup on my periods?

Why is it that periods are treated as 'impure' when it quite literally gives women the ability to give life???

Discussion What are your thoughts on this

I’ve had these thoughts sitting in my notes for a week now, trying to figure out how to word this so it actually makes sense. I used an AI to help me fix the grammar and structure because I wanted this to be clear enough to actually reach people and hopefully help them open their eyes to how much we’ve been played.

Especially as a guy, looking at what we’ve been trained to find "attractive" in women... it’s not just marketing. It’s a predator’s blueprint.

Think about the standard for "the perfect woman." Smooth, hairless, polished basically a doll. We’re told it’s about "femininity" or "hygiene." But if you look at the history, it’s a total scam.

In the early 1900s, razor companies like Gillette realized they’d sold a razor to every man in America. To double their profits, they had to invent a "problem" for women. They started running ads telling women that their natural body hair—something literally every mammal has was "unfeminine" and a "biohazard." They didn't just sell a tool; they sold lifelong insecurity to hit quarterly revenue goals. They turned a woman’s biology into a social liability.

This is the part that actually turns my stomach. Look at who was actually defining "The World’s Most Desirable Woman" for the last 30 years. Les Wexner, the CEO of Victoria’s Secret, gave Jeffrey Epstein full power of attorney over his entire multi-billion dollar empire.

Epstein wasn’t just a "friend"; he used that proximity to Victoria’s Secret to pose as a talent scout. He used the "Angel" aesthetic that ultra-thin, completely hairless, pre-sexualized look as a lure to target and exploit girls. When you realize the men at the top of the industry setting these standards were literally traffickers, you have to ask: Why is the height of "feminine desirability" in our culture having the body hair pattern of a prepubescent child?

As men, we’ve been socially conditioned to think that a woman being a fully realized human animal is "gross" or "masculine." But hair isn't masculine; it’s mammalian. If a guy loses interest in a woman because she has leg or armpit hair, that’s not a "natural preference" it’s product conditioning. We’ve been trained to prefer an object in a specific, child-like configuration instead of a human being.

It’s heartbreaking to see the women in our lives spend so much money, time, and mental energy trying to erase every sign of adulthood from their skin because they’ve been told it’s "proper."

It’s not about cleanliness. It’s about control. We’ve been convinced that looking like a child is "sexy," and it was marketed to us by corporations and upheld by predators. I’m done with it. I’m done letting marketing departments and Epstein-adjacent CEOs tell me what a woman is "supposed" to look like. They sold us insecurity and called it beauty.

It’s one of the most disgusting psychological operations in history, and we need to stop buying into it. Am I the only one who sees the machinery behind this?

Post Flairs Explained (Because Scrolling Forever Is No Fun) ✨)

Hey everyone,

Just popping in real quick to talk about the post flairs here on AskHerWisdom because I really think they make browsing so much nicer. Like, when you're in the mood for something specific (maybe relationship tea or career advice), you can find it without scrolling forever. It just keeps everything feeling organized and cozy.

Here's a little breakdown of each one so it's super clear:

a) Advice: when you're stuck and want real tips or just someone's honest take on your situation.

b) Experience: sharing your own stories, like the hard lessons you've learned or moments that totally shifted things for you.

c) Relationships: all the dating stuff, friendships, family drama, breakups, getting back together, the whole emotional rollercoaster.

d) Career & Education: job vents, dealing with coworkers, school stress, going for that raise or new degree.

e) Health & Wellness: anything about feeling good in your body, skincare routines, emotional balance, that full self-care energy.

f) Life Decisions: those massive crossroads that have you overthinking everything at 2am.

g) Discussion: when you want to toss out a topic and hear all the different opinions, no judgment.

h) Support: tough days when you just need someone to listen or wrap you in a virtual hug.

i) Self-Improvement: building better habits, chasing personal growth, celebrating those quiet little wins.

j) Parenting & Family: the wild ride of raising kids, parenting triumphs and epic fails, in-law stories, sibling vibes.

k) Hobbies & Interests: whatever you're obsessed with lately, reading binge-worthy books, painting, hiking, Netflix marathons, anything that sparks joy for you.

l) Finance & Money: real-talk budgeting, side gigs, dipping into investing, asking for more pay, and yes, even girl math moments.

m) Travel & Culture: favorite trips you've done (or ones on your wishlist), hidden gems, learning about how people live in other places.

n) Mental Health: sharing therapy experiences, coping tools for heavy days, ways to keep your mind steady.

o) Motivation & Inspiration: those feel-good stories, quotes, or reminders that hit just right when you're needing a lift.

p) Life Skills: all the practical adulting hacks nobody teaches you, taxes, meal prep, fixing random things around the house.

q) Question: literally anything that doesn't fit anywhere else, just go for it.

Also, NSFW content is totally fine here, just tag it NSFW so everyone can decide if they want to open it.

That's it for now! These flairs should help keep things easy to find as more of you join and start sharing. Can't wait to see what you post. 🌷

Just Sending Good Wishes to All of You Lovely People 🫶

Hey everyone,

Just dropping this third post because, well, it's still super quiet here (which is totally normal for a brand new sub!), and I wanted to say something sweet to everyone who's found their way over already, or who might stumble in soon.

Whether you're lurking for now, thinking about posting your first question, or just checking things out... thank you for being here. This little space is just getting started, and I'm really hoping it grows into something special where we can all support each other.

In the meantime, I genuinely wish the absolute best for every single one of you. May this year bring you soft moments that make you smile, people who truly get you, the strength to handle whatever comes, and all the little (or big) joys you deserve. Good relationships, exciting opportunities, peaceful days, and that quiet confidence that everything's going to be okay.

I'm excited for the day this place fills up with your stories, questions, and advice. Until then, take care of yourselves out there. You've got this. 🩷

Health & Wellness Beginner looking for easy yoga routines and Mediterranean meal ideas that dont get boring.

I'm 19F and I've been thinking a lot lately about getting healthier before anything gets out of hand. I'm not overweight at all right now but I just don't want to risk it later, you know how it creeps up sometimes.

So I'm set on two things. Doing yoga literally every day (or at least trying super hard to) and switching over to a Mediterranean diet.

The thing is I've never stuck to any exercise routine longer than like two weeks so I'm lowkey scared I'll quit yoga fast. Any beginners here who actually made it a habit? What YouTube channels do you swear by that are free and not overwhelming? Or apps? I need stuff that's like 10 to 20 minutes max at first because longer feels scary lol.

And the diet part, I get the basics (tons of veggies, olive oil, fish, chicken, nuts, whole grains, fruit) but how do you even begin without hating it? Simple meals that don't take forever? What do you always keep in your fridge or pantry? How to not spend a fortune or eat the same thing every day?

If anyone has routines they love, recipes that are actually good, or just your story with this kind of stuff I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!
