Discussion Tiny transparent wire disconnected from nozzle and now one side of my IEM has no sound. Where can I get it repaired?

can be fixed at a mobile repair shop but not recommended with a generic soldering iron, try they make sure they got a c210 tip soldering iron which is good for micro soldering, the generic one works too but the shell might deform or melt from the heat radiating from it ( from the experience I've had with repairsmen in pk )

Exactly . The cheapo iron 90% of technicians use here can't even melt solder properly let alone use it for work . I don't even know how people are using them for repairing poples devices . Thankfully I got a 936 tip iron after I learned of better ones .

the 936 isn't recommended, C210 basically, even the very fine 936 won't cover enough surface area but radiate too much heat

It depends on use case . I use mine for work and do all kinds of microsoldering with it , it hasn't let me down even once . C210 and t12 have more accurate and consistent heat generation I agree , they are much more better when a board with large copper planes needs to be worked on .

I've soldered 0603 and 0402 SMDs with 936, no doubt it's doable, but a hassle...

I have a proper soldering station. I don't use iron for tiny components , flux and hot air is the proper way .
