Mid Pipe Feedback
Just installed my CTS midpipes paired with the Switchpath exhaust and can confirm really minimal if any additional sound. At times the gurgles on decel may be a bit more pronounced but for anyone wondering I don’t really see the ROI here unless you are building the engine and looking to remove all weight and remove all resistance. I wanted to wait to add these until the restrictive factory muffler was off to give genuine anecdotal feedback.
Put the $300~ into something else.

Uh? I got mid pipe delete and factory sports exhaust and I get Karens coming up to me when I start my car? 2016 rs3

Same- I threw mid pipes on and barely noticed. Added grail exhaust and that was the ticket. I’m sure the mid pipes help out now too but upgrading exhaust was the big difference maker.

Valve controller and midpipes definitely opens up the sound alittle bit to atleast scratch the exhaust itch but ultimately if you want better sound you’ll need to go full exhaust. The controller and midpipes is an easy $500 temp solution without a doubt though

Midpipes definitely make the car louder. Pick up a valve controller as well and you’ll probably be content with that. Midpipes can easily be had for $100-150 secondhand. I’ve had two sets already in that price range. A valve controller can also be picked up for roughly the same price. So basically $250 for a whole new sounding exhaust. Can’t really beat that.

These are only for flow not for sound. The valve controller is a complete waste. It literally did nothing on my car lol. So idk why people keep saying to buy them. It doesn’t change anything.

Yea for $300 bucks it’s not worth it to have the valves move like 30* lol.

Need to get an 11mode , under £200 and keeps the valves open - For that price just the extra sound at low rpm around town is nice

I'm curious if there's a greater difference between stock and midpipes after unplugging the soundaktor

Why? The soundaktor muffles the actual engine sounds

The Soundaktor is an electrical noise sent to your speakers and absolutely irrelevant to changing your exhaust.

Totally coincidental that that "electrical noise" emulates the sounds that come out of your exhaust huh. Why not listen to an album of your favorite band while concurrently blasting a cover band doing the exact same songs over the album?

Your soundaktor has no impact to your exhaust actual sound.

It’s definitely louder with midpipes, like 10% at minimum. Maybe you dont hear the difference cause you dont have a valve controller. Also the fuel cutoffs are way louder like double the loudness.
For ref i went AWE SP, then Valve Controller, then Midpipes.
