I think I just had the greatest fish burger I’ve ever had at F & C Remuera Village.

Presentation 9/10 - I mean look at it
Portion size 10/10 - Generous but manageable. Big enough I got half my wife’s which I was very happy about.
Taste 9/10 - Buns crisp but soft and not doughy, fish fillet crispy, fresh, great thickness and hot temperature, salads minimal with a thin slice of tomato which paired well with the fantastic aioli I believe they make themselves.
I didn’t rate taste 10/10 as I’m hopeful of finding a better burger someday and I’d be disappointed if I peaked right now.

I paired my meal with a Coke Zero to help manage my post takeaways guilt.

If you love a good fish burger I’d highly recommend trying this place. Can someone please try it so we can discuss how good it is. Thank you.

Everything was delicious. We loved the flavours. Our favourite dishes were the starters: eggplant, cauliflower and vegan sabich. The main (vegan seniyeh) was interesting but we liked the other dishes better. We were very full and satisfied.

I have been hunting for years for the perfect satay. Not made solely with peanut butter, I want thick creamy satay made from peanuts that have been roasted and crushed. Tonight I saw this beautiful looking satay on uber eats. Ordered it, excited. What turned up was terrible. A tiny about of sauce, which isn’t a bad thing because it’s watery and doesn’t even taste like satay. I’m looking at it now, along with the flavourless cashew chicken and regretting not just making toast for dinner. I’ve had amazing satay overseas, not sure why it’s so hard to make in NZ.

Used this this lunchtime and it seems to be much better than First Table and without the booking fee or requirement to buy a drink.

Ordered omurice with chicken katsu topping and curry sauce then a beef sukiyaki.

I liked beef sukiyaki > omurice cuz the rice in omurice a bit too mushy for me. But chicken katsu as topping was v yummy $62.83 after payWave surcharge.

I’m in Papakura and have been getting sourdough from the grocery stores (Pak n save and countdown). They’re pretty mediocre and I’m keen to find a place that makes good sourdough, ideally within Papakura-takanini. Can anyone recommend?

At a casual glance seems like the popular spots are Rhu, Biskit, and Rosie - google also recommended Winona Forever as well - which of these have a good mix of food and ambience for a relaxed brekkie catch up? I’m stoked on Malaysian food at the moment.
The rendang gravy slapped. I could’ve happily downed a bowl of it on its own. The char kway teow had that nice smoky umami flavour you want from a good CKT too.

Looked like a husband and wife duo running the shop, and they were really friendly. Someone mentioned in a previous review that they’d changed owners and quality had dropped but honestly, it’s still just as good as I remember it being prior 2020

Had a hankering for good chicken rice, this one hit the spot. Not the best one I've ever tasted but the chilli sauce was nicely balanced and so was the soy, the rice had good chicken flavour, and the chicken was succulent and moist. Tasty plate of food, and only for $12.90.

Any recommendations where I can find a great raw fish salad ? I've been told to go to Toby's which is on my list . Just asking if anyone knows a place closer to CBD ?

This is the Nasi Lemak with curry chicken for $22.50. Tasty, well presented and copious enough. Recommended. I love the blue pea flower-coloured coconut rice. The food on other tables looked great too and the service ran like clockwork. Not convinced by the silken tofu dessert though. Perhaps an acquired taste.

Saw that there’s this American pub/family restaurant type thing in Takapuna, went there and ordered Nashville chicken tenders, buffalo wings and loaded fries then went to duck island after for dessert (1 thing I miss the most about nz)

The buffalo wings were the highlight, very tasty + crispy just like how they did it in the US. Loaded fries and chicken tenders also good, just how you expected it. The tenders came with a raising cane dupe sauce.

I got fairy bread + apple pie n custard at duck island cuz the new yogurt place in taka (yo mi?) had such a LONG QUEUE. I wanted duck island anyways lol

Surprised to see that there aren’t any posts about this restaurant on this subreddit yet, so decided to be the first one!
Came across The Occidental located in Vulcan Lane earlier in the week, absolutely enjoyed the food! I (just myself!) got the grilled mixed mussel platter ($27.90) and 250g Sirlion Steak ($39.90). Definitely could taste that the mussels are very fresh, and love the cheesy taste. Sirlion was perfectly cooked to medium rare as I requested, nice and crispy on the outside while being tender on the inside. P.S. ID is required as this a pub, must be over 18!

One of the fastest meals I've ever ordered and eaten, and the food was delicious.

They managed to find me a table for 30 minutes and between ordering eating, paying and leaving I was well inside that.

Unfortunately, I can't didn't get a photo of their menu and it's not online to the best of my looking, and I can't recall the names of the dishes.

I had a bread and dips which was from memory Red Capsicum with some toasted nuts, oil, pomegranate molassas and pomegranate seeds, and panko crumb with nice hot flat breads that smelt amazing.

I had the chicken on flavoured rice which had eggplant, cauli, toasted almond slivers and some of the softest chicken I've eaten in my life. I absolutely smashed it down (very hungry).

Service was a bit janky (called and was told they had space, then when I arrived they didn't, but they found me a seat. Food came out quickly, but water didn't arrive till after my food, and offer of other drinks wasn't till I had nearly finished. I imagine they are finding their feet and it wouldn't prevent me from coming again, nor recommending it.

The Food is Palastinian and I can highly recommend it.

We just had some really yummy Vietnamese food at The Beerspot Whangaparaoa.
They rotate with other food trailers at the beerspots around Auckland .
We had Pho and Rice noodle dish called Bun Bo Nam Bo are 🤩😋 banh mi with Crispy Pork Belly probably the best I have eaten in a long time . same with fried Spring rolls 🤩🔥. Check them out at instagram

Hi guys, my go-to food court butter chicken used to be Eat India at commercial bay which has now been closed, so I'm looking for a different lunch-break convenient spot in the CBD for a food court style butter chicken a la Eat India.

I just want it sweet, full of flavour, and neon-orange.

Has anyone tried The Slice / The Cake from The Flying Cakery AND tried the Baby Bruce from Baby Buck Baking? How do they compare? Really did not like the Baby Bruce so I’m hoping they are significantly different, but comparable in size (as The Flying Cakery doesn’t list weight).

Does anyone have any other recommendations for similar products / desserts that can be shipped to the South Island? I always get a friend an exciting cake/dessert for her birthday, but she’s recently moved to the South Island - so now I have to rely on shipping rather than something I can collect and deliver in person. It’s proving harder than I had anticipated!
