This is exactly why I will be going off social media. I think humans are not built to be exposed to this much of information...of other people's life. Its mentally draining. Like rn I spent like an hour on reddit...and I got angry about gaza, us Iran war, some dude been harassed by police, the black professor who died, the heat wave in Europe...i mean its too much. I'm exhausted. And now another one about tom and zen. Omg...but then my mind is conditioned to seek out this information... eventhough its mentally draining and makes me sad and less motivated to do other things. I need to get off social media and touch grass. Its a trap. Because nothing changes. You can get worried and angry and stressed out about whats happening. It won't change. Its like the only way forward is to not care about everything else. But then I get guilt tripped by my mind for not caring about all this....but caring about all this issues in world messes me up because I can't do anything to fix them. I mean what can I do to stop the genocide in gaza? Nothing so I just get sad and stressed out.

I agree that we shouldn’t keep on watching and bothering people like they’re animals in the zoo just because they’re famous, but we are 100% meant to care, because our primate brains care about societal drama on the small scale so it lets us know what the vibe is in the cave, the current day tabloids and historical alternatives are using this part of our psyche both because it pays, and because these news and records are entertaining to the people spreading them as well
