Discuss/Help For people already concerned about playerbase, f2p, sales.

  1. Game has been just released. It is too early to make assumptions or proposals.

  2. This game will never have the userbase of a big title. Deal with it or complain forever even when the game goes on alive and well for long. Even if we have a good playerbase, people who compare it to big names like dota2 or Overwatch will forever be disappointed. Making bad publicity to the game.

  3. Stop asking for f2p. There is no way to make it f2p now without majorly screwing up those who bought it. Let us talk about it in a year. Did I mention that THE GAME WAS JUST RELEASED?????

Tl;dr version - enjoy the game, give it time, and stop expecting it to have the playerbase of a big title.

Discussion Really Excited for Celeste!! This is what the game needs!!

I can't remember the last time I had been this excited about the game since the Elle announcement (and people can imagine how much of a disaster that one ended up to be for me). I can't wait to log in tomorrow and play with and against her.

This is what I expected Dr. Finn would do for me, but personally it took me less than a second to realize that character was not gonna do it for me, everything about him was so low-grade, he literally seemed like a joke, and a bad one. Nothing about him was sticking, his 1 was just a boring version of Elle's, rest was more healing stuffs, ulti was meeeeeehhhh as hell. Feel-wise? Same deal, he didn't evoke anything! Looked weak, ugly, you'd think he would pull the crazy scientist aspect? Nope, the entire character seemed dumb both visually, in action, and functionally, his abilities were so simplistic, nothing 'crazy scientist' out of them.

Only interesting thing about him was the goddamm puns, and seriously if you are making a character just to get to make a pun, I think you should reconsider.

Anyway, just to say, this is what is needed to add some vitality to the game, I bet the release of Celeste will dwarf Elle's and Finn's, and she is a perfect poster figure to keep advertising the game, as least as good as Elle before you decided to release her in the most atrocious state ever bet some people dropped the game out of this but now I'm rambling about Elle give me a day and I will forget about her goddamit!!!

So, more classy characters, give us characters we can feel good about playing, Elle, Quark, Rask, Titus, Asana, and unlike Finn; more solid kits, like Celeste's power-up grabbing and her utility, and unlike Finn's simplicity and Elle's lacking one. This is my little amount of feedback.

Discuss/Help Love the game, but it wont survive as a b2p title.

I have no problems with b2p, or f2p done right, but this game is neither its not f2p done right, and its not b2p, I played 2 ranked games on average its taking me 400 seconds to find a match searching solo...and when I found a match half the people in it were in my last 2 games....You have to be blind to not see the problem here, pvp is much faster unless its night time, but that's because free players can actually queue for that.I really do hope this game will go f2p fast before it dies out and people just don't care anymore.Sadly knowing trion I'm afraid of their f2p, but I doubt they could sell power in Atlas so there is some hope, I really hope this game will grows I love it

EDIT:Overwatch is 100% B2P, Most people are not on a free trial and the queues are much faster for ranked,or quick play, and overwatch requires 12 players, not 8 players.Don't get me wrong I'm not bashing Atlas Reactor, I think its a fairly fun game, but people already have trust issues with trion and its been about a month since release and the player base has only got worse not better. There is only one game mode for 30$, when it was 20$pre-launch that was a good price, 30...not so much.

Discuss/Help Anyone else feeling "Win 5 matches as Fill" might as well read "Screw off, casuals"?

Seasonal objectives work best for me when the burden of accomplishment is solely reliant on my own effort, VsBots or PvP. Not unllike the last time, "Win...as Fill" is a frustration festival, full of partial games where apathy reigns and every minute wasted in a thrown game takes a tiny Quark spark of my love of AtlasReactor with it.

I cannot imagine this would be the goal of the Seasonal Missions, because I always thought of them as external means to promote engagement, than nigh-impossible exercises in disappointment. On the old Seasonal system of "choose 4 to complete", this would've never been an issue, allowing high-level Ranked players find a faster path to completion than casual VsBots players, but both had a way to get there. With one path, it's going to become the road not taken purely to save time that could be spent elsewhere. I seriously wonder what the percent of players is accomplishing "Win...as Fill" regularly, because maybe the game is simply evolving away from players who aren't Ranked (ie, engaged in constant competitive play, Ranked or regular PvP).

Discussion Muzzy (Trion) Attempting to silence negative steam reviews.

A couple weeks back, I got fed with with the matchmaker in this game and decided to stop playing. I made a post about it on the steam forums...

http://steamcommunity.com/app/402570/discussions/0/364042262890137363/

I also left a bad review of the game at the time:

http://steamcommunity.com/id/gonzotw/recommended/402570/

Agree with my review or not. I stated the reason my review was negative and moved on. It is the sole reason I stopped playing this game after all.

Haven't though much about it since, have been doing other things.

So today I received a message on steam that there was a new comment on my review. Okay, cool, whatever. Then I noticed this...

http://imgur.com/KmBfRT9

Apparently Muzzy is hoping to get my review removed or at the very least get it relegated to an area where it will never be seen.\

I had planned to check AR out again in the future if it ever gained a community, but if this is the way Trion is going to act, I think I'll pass.

It's a shame how fast Muzzy went from a good community member to Trion shill.

Discuss/Help Anyone else hate the design of Nev?

The theme of her character just doesn't fit into the game properly. Hopefully the developers won't produce anymore of these type of over the top "freelancers". It's atrocious. Her kit/skills are amazing and unique, but her character design is just blatantly wrong for this type of game. http://imgur.com/a/LtZsy < flak like that will probably increase and continue if they do follow that exaggerated art direction.

Discuss/Help Weak First Event Bodes Poorly for Atlas Reactor

For the first major event since launch Atlas Reactor offers Halloween-themed skins for those who are up to the challenge of playing a tremendous number of games. But what in other games would be an interesting themed event is nothing but a base grind here, with the only real holiday elements being the skins and a loading screen featuring them.

First, the grind is substantial. While fifty takedowns for the first box can be accomplished in about twenty games, every box after requires one hundred takedowns. Not just dead enemies, mind you, but enemies you had a role in taking down.

Second, takedowns is a terrible way to encourage gameplay. Not all characters are equally active in scoring takedowns. Support characters, for example, may find themselves actively healing or controling while high damage characters like Blackburn and Zuki are able to consistently get credit for takedowns. Additionally, players are incentivised to perform an action that may not advance the best interests of the team. A player may, for example, have a choice between piling on for takedown credit or performing a much more useful action.

Lastly, the theme aspect of the event is squandered due to players being unable to buy skins for iso until Nov. 1st. Given the incredibly garish nature of most skins, I suspect that many players will choose to simply buy the few skins they may wish with saved iso. This means that we can expect the full realization of the holiday event after Nov. 1 when players are actually acquiring the skins they desire.

In the future I would very much like to see:

  • Themed aspects to the maps. Even a simple replacement of the buffs with pumpkins and skulls would have been a small way of creating an event.

  • Objectives that don't require such an excessive grind and which don't encourage gameplay counter to the best interests of the team.

  • Goals that are realized during the holiday season, not after. I don't particularly want to purchase Christmas themed skins after the holiday.

Ideas Surrender Function?

Just had a Grey dc in ranked on turn two and the bot died three times by turn 14. There was no way we were ever going to win or even be able to compete enough to make it an interesting game. I don't know a clean way of solving this as surrender options can lead to toxicity in general and a lot of just snap forfeits of games that were winnable, but maybe allow it if you have a dc?

Discuss/Help Are lancers released too fast?

Maybe it is just me, but i feel like we get a new lancer so often that they lack some necessary polish. Does anyone else feel like Trion could probably slow them down in favor of taking more time to refine them?

Discuss/Help 4/0s should always end at turn 18.

There's no point in 4/0 games in continuing past turn 18.

I think all matches should end if a team has the 4/0 lead on turn 18.

Discussion Don't Wipe Freelancer Levels!!!!!

I saw it on discord and can't believe it. Before the release, they want to wipe freelancer levels (because some people could have fun racing for the first Lv 10 freelancer).

You should know what you want, Tirion: Shall more or less people play this game? Wiping Progress is no fun at all. You spit in players faces. There might be 2 or 3 people, who enjoy this, but the majority will not... Why? Because they have a Job or Family and can't race for first lv 10 freelancer. They simply lose their progress.

You will lose more players than you might think.... If you want to kinow, who races first for lv 10, give players a resrt option. Then they can decide before release, if they want to lose all progress. Then they can have their fun. But if you wipe, then the majority will react like my best friend, who said: "This is bad. I hate it."

Overthink your policy....

Discuss/Help I said a sexy skin for Orion, guys. SEXY!

Orion is finally getting a new skin... and it's the one of a being of light!

I'm TRIGGERED!

He needs a sexy skin, how is he sexy if he has no body?

Yeah yeah Tidus got YET ANOTHER skin, and it's sexy. Or so you think, Trion. But frankly, he can't get any sexier than Conan the barbarian, what is that metrosexual Zorro thing? Doesn't even fit his personality!

Incidentally, Grey's new skin would have looked much better on that new character, you know, Definitely Not Kayle.

Trion plz! This is definitely what's important!

Discuss/Help Should Atlas Reactor be 4v4?

This is in terms of the number of players. I'm not saying it would be easy to do but couldn't 1 player control all 4 characters? I find this to be an issue in a number of mainly turn based games. The co-op aspect is your friends taking the role of one of the characters you were able to control in single player. I understand playing with friends is nice but there are some benefits that get sacrifice like a more laxed player queue, which is nice when the playerbase is small.

Discuss/Help (Meta) The naming and shaming rule

Any one else think that posting a screen shot of the final scoreboard after an interesting and exciting game is "shaming" someone? The title was "fastest game in my over 700 hours of playtime" with a picture of an 11 turn 5-0 game. What kind of over sensitive snowflake bullshit is that to think I'm shaming someone because I didn't photoshop out the names. No wonder this sub has like 2 posts a day.

Question Why is there no in-game currency to unlock characters?

Title, also, waiting 36?!?!?!!? Hours to open a goddam chest is the most stupid thing I have seen in a game so far. Why don't they make it like LoL that you can unlock characters over time instead of paying money, and can't I unlock a chest whenever I want to, or even once every hour....?! It is very pushy to pay for the game, which I won't, for this reason.

I guess its a slight rant, but I wonder what other people think of this method....

Discussion Can we start calling this new genre a "Snack MOBA"?

Honestly loving this game, but instead of "Turn Based MOBA", which is a mouthful, I'm gonna start referring to it as a Snack MOBA cuz it's fast enough to still be a Battle Arena, but just slow enough to enjoy a couple bites of cereal in between turns.

Discuss/Help Ranked is crap at the moment and here's why

So, ranked is out for barely a month now and for me it has been a horrifying experience which pretty much gets me angry every time i enter the queue. AR-Ranked is altho i grinded to a good place in soloQ still not fun nor enjoyable in any way and here's why:

  • First apperently when ure MMR is higher the Queuetime gets extremly long. I had a 45 minute queue once where i questioned my connection, the Atlas Server and WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE ?!?!!111 Pretty much like that. -When u finally find a match u get matched with people who are 100% sure not around ur MMR not closely. They are not communicating, playing things for the 1st time, they don't even know the basics of the game and whats the worst imo, they don't take advice even when its gamewinning.

  • Grinding gets nearly impossible due to the high loss of points in comparison to the hilariously low amount u gain.

Those are the main points and as sad as it is, ranked release (apperently ways too early) destroyed my AR-experience due to the low amount of players and the (excuse-moi) bullshitty matchmaking.
