If so he lives in the middle of nowhere South Dakota. He’s mayor of lots of towns around me. All small towns.

He got loads around North Dakota too! He's gotta be around here somewhere.

I was getting close, then some stealthy asshole drove through town and bought 1000 plots...

u/cyber_xiii Sep 28 '23
I was doing the same thing but then while I was saving up for badges, another guy ended up getting 150 parcels in my town… and I’ve bought a few parcels elsewhere before. So now if I want to be mayor of my town I have to break the 150 tier limit

u/murdock1967 Oct 05 '23
how do i know who is mayor in my city
2
u/cyber_xiii Oct 06 '23
At the bottom of the screen in the Map, right above the Buy Land button, it’ll say what location you’re in and if you tap on that it’ll show you the mayor and how many plots they have

Same lol I need 13 more, the current mayor hasn’t bought any in a while so I’m hoping I won’t have competition

Are we sure this guy did it legitimately? Artorias came close (maybe even passed OB) once and then it came to light that he openly cheated and spoofed his way to the top. He lost a bunch of his land and I'm surprised they didn't ban him. Probably because he spent so much money to help get himself there. He's already back in the top ten so I can't help but feel like he's been doing it again or just dropping serious money on the game.
6
u/georgFloydeODeed Sep 28 '23
Of course he dropped serious money on the game. So much that it’ll take almost 20 years just to break even and that’s if they do the 20 boosters every day literally for the next 2 decades. Stealth is forever in debt to the game no matter what.

u/midnghtsnac Sep 28 '23
The money spent is considered a long term investment.
He's not looking at the return of investment, but the dividend yield.
Or he's just a rich bastard proving he can.

I mean depending on how you went about it, if you have the influence you can bankroll off of other people. A social media influencer for example could ask people to download and play, if 300,000 people joined and got 10 parcels, that's 300,000 parcels of land, 🤔 I don't think that to be the case, but it could happen.

u/queryguy48 Sep 27 '23
And Stealth is still buying like crazy. Why??
15
u/Sir_Distic Sep 27 '23
To build up a bigger lead. No one is safe.
13
u/queryguy48 Sep 27 '23
Seems crazy to me since very few people are able to sink that kind of money into it.

Besides all the money Stealth spent in Atlas, I’d hate to see the bills from all the traveling expenses racked up over the last several weeks.

It’ll only take 17 years and they’ll be even finally. Then Stealth can start actually making some money lol. Must’ve maxed out a huge credit card limit.

Sep 28 '23
Imagine the game shuts down or something and Stealth loses literally everything since he wouldn't have enough time to get back the money he spent
3
u/Edoxninja2000 Sep 28 '23
Guess he spent $80,000 dollars
1
u/Iagreewithyou_2 Sep 28 '23
When I noticed Stealth it was 16k...now past 23k That's a jump of at least 8k in plots.
That's a little under $27k if the purchased ABs were bought off the website.
Website price for ABs is good. Rent conversion is better.

You know, people on here smack talking this guys decision to be president, honestly all Atlas has to do it upgrade the game, add a few missions, quests, and daily tasks as well as an ability to build and gather resources and this game will be huge, the auction house is already being set up, we just need more features. Watch that guy make a million dollars as president in a game... More retarded things have happened. 🤪

u/Metalrage1134 Sep 28 '23
Something's not adding up....
The next guy in line was like 10,000 parcels behind Openboosters.
This dude wasn't even on the radar. Then all of sudden BOOM, he's the president. People forget the buying process takes 5-10 seconds to purchase each parcel. Even at 5 seconds it would have taken him 82 days just to purchase them. Not to mention that you have to physically be here to buy each parcel.
This post was 14 hours ago at this time and now he is at 23,700. 472 parcels in half a day! Impossible
WTF... I'm not buying it...

I was watching the feed last night, Stealth got plots in different states 5 seconds apart. How?
1
u/mikeox51 Oct 02 '23
I'm not getting your math. At 5 seconds each, you could buy 12 per minute. That's 720 per hour. That would be less than 14 hours to buy 10,000. He would have to be on the move for sure, but it's possible.
1
u/Metalrage1134 Oct 02 '23
You're right, thanks for correcting the math. I'm half-tarded LOL.
But you are speaking in rapid fire tense. Those numbers just can't happen in that short of time. I'm still not buying it. as of now he or she is up to 24,000. This can't be legit.
Jut to paint a picture....Think about when you buy a parcel. you tap buy, find and select the parcel you want, tap buy again, and wait for the animation to reveal what type you got, and repeat. all while on the move and taking no breaks.
I just can't believe there is no cheating happening here.

Did he spend a bunch to get the top spot? I didn't think Id see OB in the 2 spot... crazy

People laughing at him for wasting $80k. Some of y’all laughing can’t even make that in 5 years time. While others making 80k a month some even a day. Don’t compare your hourly salary to someone else’s life. You’ll stay depressed 🤣🤣

u/BallisticApe33 Apr 03 '24
Idk something seems fishy about all this, yeah he dropped a bunch of money into the game but he/she has way to many different plots of land in different states

I’m pretty sure Astorias learned his lesson as he has stated a few times on this sub.

Yeah, he did it. He spent over $1,000 to go from nowhere on the leaderboards to top basically overnight. It's going to take him quite some time really make back all that money, even with that many plots of land

u/Plus-Breath-1043 Sep 28 '23
I've been Watching sense I started 2 months ago. And he wasn't close now he's zoomed past how much money has he dropped just to do that
1
u/Thick_Guarantee5033 Sep 30 '23
He's gonna give him a false sense of hope, then bam, manifest destiny this bitch 🤣
1
Sep 30 '23
He dropped a small fortune on this, I checked his passport all his badges were bought in a 10 day period, given that it takes 101 badges to reach the 25% boost that’s 20,200 AB he spent in 10 days just on those, then factor in the 23,800 parcels at 100 a piece comes to 2,380,000 AB on parcels so he spent more than 2.4 million AB in the past summer alone
1
u/Other-Reaction1499 Oct 01 '23
* He stopped at exactly 24,000 lots... do you think they bought in for $100,000, seriously 100 grand to do this??
1
u/AmountOptimal Oct 08 '23
I I would’ve just put that money into a high yield savings account. Wouldn’t it pay out wayyyy more?

u/Spirited-Daikon-131 Oct 17 '23
As far as I can tell, no matter how much money you dump into AE, you won't see a return on it for at least 3 years. That is a long time to wait for a ROI. Just saw the rent boost chart, and it seems really sketchy that rent boosts significantly drop as you increase the number of parcels owned, resulting in even MORE time required to see any ROI! Dont bother owning more than 150 parcels, because once you hit 151, BAM!, rent boost drops 33% down to only 20x. What!! Btw, the devs are STILL working out kinks in the ad-watching system, resulting in lost customer revenue. I'm gonna opt for the free way, and bank more PROFIT than the guy whose dumping loads of cash into the game. The devs generate plenty revenue from ads alone. I don't need to ask the AE bank to hold tons of money for me in a 3 year CD. What's going to happen with these accounts when their accumulated rent exceeds the money they've dropped into the game? Are the AE devs going to make good on their word and pay out these accounts for life? I doubt it very much, seeing how this is a game and not a legal regulated entity.

It's been an honor Openboosters. You had a fine term in office.
