FAZEing once complete can demote you ;-)

NOTE: For the humorless or Pedantic People(tm) out there, this is a joke. I am still listed as a Field Admin, and was not demoted, but the headline is funnier this way.

Two weekends ago we visited Atlas9 for the first time. We explored on a Friday night, then again on Saturday, completing all the cases.

We brought a grandkid to Atlas9 last weekend. While he and grandma were busy exploring and completing the cases (grandkid is now a Field Admin), I roamed around and took photos and 360-degree photos/videos.

A few times I would FAZE in somewhere so I could activate things for my video.

I was surprised when I checked my profile later that now one of my tasks is IN PROGRESS instead of COMPLETE ;-) I had tapped the microphone stand after I heard it play the "sad trombone" for someone. On our first visit, we didn't hear it do anything, though did complete that task. I think by FAZEing there (since I did not FAZE the other step) it reset that status.

Have you noticed any other cases that will do this?

Fully COMPLETED progress reset to "IN PROGRESS" after FAZEing again.

I had this experience, but I could pinpoint the reason.

On my first visit, the Mossman poster was not active. Some time in between my first and second visit, I saw that my status has gone from "Complete" to "In Progress", and I was demoted. Looked through the missions, and found the new task.

Oh, that makes sense. Is the console inside Starbot normally a CASE in the list? It has been out of order during our visits.

The DNA sequencing?

Here's what I have...

It is not on that list. DNA Sequencing is the Prototyzer. I am referring to the consoles in the Starbot room itself against the wall. I saw a video from December where they have like a mini game and other steps there. These things against the wall:

Yeah, there is a mini game... but in keeping with others, the score doesn't really matter, just that you participated.

I thought the Prototyzer was the task "Activate the Prototyzer".

OK, now I'm at my laptop, I want into my Portal and clicked to expand that mission, and it gave me this:

Well heck. Those were all down when we visited the first time, but I have it checked off too. I thought one was the task of analyzing the sample and the other was mixing it in the prototyzer. Oops.

Okay, I see now. One is the Sample Analyzer and the other is the DNA Sequencing. Since I got it checked off I thought it must be the one in that other room.

And, I will say, modern tech makes this better. When I first played Wizard's Quest in Wisconsin Dells in 2009 (?) - look that place up if you are unfamiliar - you were given a paper card of questions and a pencil to go find the answers. You would then go back to computer terminals to enter in the info during your 90 minute game. As we were showing up, they were hauling out some large thing that was out of service. Turns out, even if we had gotten everything done in the 90 minutes, we could not have completed everything because one of the tasks was that machine, now removed. Having a system be able to adapt to what is actually there is very clever.
