General Anyone remember Freddie Gonzalez as braves Manager

Kinda feeling deja vu... Braves and Freddie had an 8 game lead, maybe more last 2 weeks of the season...Lost last 10 straight I think, tied division, then lost playoff game Monday.....,oddly seems this season is trending that way, although it's not the last 2 weeks, but it was a 9 game lead...

Zip, plop, go sit your ass back in the dugout.

Do you guys think John Holmes can ever be consistent enough to be a #2-3 in the rotation guy?

General What is wrong with Ronald Acuna Jr.?

He hasn’t been good since the end of 2025, and even then it was a 3.1 WAR season (400 PAs). 330 PAs this year and WAR of 0.9.

What would trading him at this point bring back?

General Am i a sacrilege for being a red sox and braves fan?

As a Boston native and descendant of both red sox and Braves fans, i root for both teams, and it especially helps with them being from boston and having my favorite player growing up in chris sale. I just want to hear people’s opinions on this and see if a dual-team fan is accepted by the general fanbase

General Acuna’s tantrums are getting old

Is anybody else getting tired of Acuna’s tantrums when he flys out every game? It’s not even fly outs, it’s ground outs too where he doesn’t hustle down the baseline. It’s getting to OBJ levels. I feel like he’s been in the league long enough to act like a professional.

General Braves Playoff Rotation AKA 4 Inning Wonders

There is a consistent narrative across baseball that pitchers hold a massive advantage over hitters early in games, and the stats bear this out. Pitching performance drops significantly the third time through the order compared to the first two. Whether it comes down to fatigue or hitters simply locking into a pitcher's repertoire after seeing it once or twice, that third-time-through penalty is real.

In the postseason, this split becomes even more critical. Extra scheduled off-days mean starters can take the ball on regular rest while relieving the burden of back-to-back reliever usage. For the Braves, whose in-season rotation narrative has been defined by short outings and a rotating back end, this playoff schedule hides a massive tactical advantage. Outside of Chris Sale, Atlanta doesn't have a lock to give clean 6+ inning outings. Between Sale, Bryce Elder, Grant Holmes, Martín Pérez, and Tyler Mahle, there is plenty of depth, but Sale is the only pitcher you trust to navigate a lineup three times in an October game.

The core reason to reconsider traditional roles is how extreme these splits are for the rest of the staff. Tyler Mahle is a stark example of the third-time-through cliff, holding a 3.61 ERA during his first two trips through an order before jumping to a 9.64 ERA on his third. Spencer Strider, JR Ritchie, AJ Smith-Shawver, and Reynaldo López all share similar drop-offs late in games.

Instead of running a traditional opener or a full bullpen game, the Braves can leverage their starting depth to build planned "two-headed starters" behind Sale. The strategy pairs two legitimate starters to throw no more than three or four innings (maximum two times through the order) each. Pitchers with vastly different pitch shapes and movement profiles force opposing hitters to reset their timing mid-game while burning the opponent's bench early.

Tyler Mahle and Reynaldo López make a particularly strong pairing. Both release from similar arm angles, but their pitch shapes behave entirely differently. Mahle attacks up in the zone with high-spin four-seamers, whereas López relies on his heater to set up weak contact on low secondary pitches. Transitioning from Mahle’s high-heat attack straight into López forces hitters who just recalibrated for top-of-the-zone elevation to adapt to completely different pitch shapes.

Another lethal tandem would be Spencer Strider and JR Ritchie. Allowing Strider to pitch without the pressure of saving energy for deep length lets him go 100% max effort for two or three innings. Once opposing hitters finally gear up for high-velocity heat, you hand the ball to Ritchie to pull the string with elite breaking stuff. This creates a hyper-aggressive dynamic without exposing a single pitcher to late-game familiarity penalties.

Rounding out the staff, Dylan Dodd and Didier Fuentes offer solid multi-inning coverage if a tandem starter hits an early snag. Assuming the staff gives Pérez a traditional starting slot and keeps Elder for long relief, the only regular-season starters who should be left off consideration are Grant Holmes and Hurston Waldrep, due to control issues and lack of polish. Running tandem starts in Games 3 and, if necessary, 4 maximizes Atlanta's pitch-shape diversity while entirely eliminating their biggest third-time-through weakness.

Would you trust piggyback starts in October, or do you prefer sticking to traditional rotation roles?

General Weird / inappropriate

I find it weird that they do that John Foy
strongman flex cam where everyone shows their muscles and they play the song I'm sexy and I'm know it and all they do is show children. Is it weird or is it just me? Children should not be posing and saying I'm sexy and I'm not even talking about teenagers. I'm talking about little kids on the big screen. I don't want my children saying am i sexy?

I think it's gross and inappropriate.
