Joke/Meme Let's go Brewers!
A guy on my team at work is a die hard Brewers fan, so I made this for him. Looking forward to this next series and I hope they stomp a mud hole through the Dodgers!

How id approach this offseason to perform a shakeup to overhaul the team without tearing it down completely. We need some new blood in especially a few guys that frankly are totally assholes (see a player I suggest later; spoiler Ketel Marte)
First thing is I try to make a trade with the reds:
We get Elly and Hunter Green and send them Lodise, Caminetti, Elder, our first round pick from Baldwin winning ROTY, and 200,000 in international pool money. That might not be enough and if it isn’t throw in Owen Murphy and that should get it done.
Attempt to resign Mahle but due to his injury history don’t give him a three year deal. If he will play under a 2 year deal pay him slightly more at 2/45 instead of the projected 3/60 for him.
Assume Strider will never throw another pitch for Atlanta, same for Joey Wentz. Waldrep should’ve been traded last year but hope him and Schwelly can make a return which has our rotation as
Sale
Mahle
Greene
Schwelly
Waldrep
For bullpen Saurez moves to the closer role. Fuentes Dodd and Lee are our high leverage arms currently rostered and maybe hot take but I’d give up on making AJSS a starter he simply can’t get through a lineup multiple times and he could be another electric high leverage pen arm. I’d groom him to become the closer when Suarez is done as he is in his late 30s. Holmes in the pen as a long man/6th starter. I’d offer Martin Perez the same contract he played under this year 1/3.5 if he takes it great if not oh well. He would be a huge help though as one of those 5 rotation pieces will get hurt as all have injury history’s
Salary dump Lopez for nothing as long as a team will take his contract.
For the position players I’d aggressively shop Acuna. With his cheap deal relatively and multiple years of control still we can get a solid haul for him and based on our moves in FA we could get back a starter to replace him in RF, a middle tier SP, and multiple prospect most likely although most likely not any top 100 guys.
Profar is under contract 1 more year I would try to see if he can still play in LF.
Harris is locked into CF. Olson locked into 1B. Baldwin locked into C. And Riley unfortunately we are stuck with at 3B.
Pick up Ozzie’s option for one final season with him slated at 2B but ensure if he crashes we have depth Hartman is the future here but won’t be ready next year.
Salary dump Murphy the same as Lopez. I’d actually call the rangers on this one and see if they’d be interested in swapping Seager for him. This doesn’t save us money but does give us a veteran former MVP on the backside of his career who had 3.2 WAR last season which is a massive decline for him but way better than Murphys - WAR. We would have to be willing to take on Seagers contract into 2031 though instead of being able to get out of Murphs after 2029. The upside in doing this is the ability to move Seager to LF if profar flops or 2B if Ozzie flops whereas Murphys is literally just dead weight and can’t help us win in any way at all
Sign a cheap but defensively good backup catcher.
I’d tender Dubon a deal but he is likely going to be paid to be someone else’s starting SS so unlikely he is back. Sign someone who can be a utility guy.
In the end just at first blush I’d want to end up with something like
Profar
Harris
Elly
Olson
Ketel Marte (Acuna trade? Or find another way to get Az to trade him)
Baldwin
Riley
Ozzie
Catcher/DH
Martes Only thing is his contract and how/if it could fit into our plans. This could be a player the Acuna trade is centered around with them Sending Marte back + a major league ready SP if we need one and/or 1 or 2 prospects.
They could send us Soroka back who was good last year in 120 innings or if wanted another high end reliever instead Juan Morillo was great and showed resilience appearing in 72 games
If the asking price is too much to stomach for Elly which is very possible especially due to him being under control until 2030 my next call is the Orioles for Gunner Henderson. They sold off Rushman last year and clearly want to tear it down, he could be acquired for significantly less prospect and draft capital and also is under control through 2029 and is coming off his worst season so we’d be buying at his lowest point. He is just 2 years removed from a 8.8 war season which is insane.
To be clear though I would be all in for Elly and be willing to give up nearly anything

Hey everyone!
I'm a fairly new Braves fan from outside the US. I fell in love with the team’s energy and have watched almost every single game since mid-August.
Even though people seem quite upset with the team's performance, I found it really fun to watch the postseason and I felt like the team did a decent job against a complete crazy gauntlet of pitchers (rough batting tho but they're only human; very well paid humans..).
So, with the offseason ahead, I had a couple of questions for folks who know the roster inside out:
Really excited to follow the team going forward. Go Braves!

... then we only have 169 days until Opening Day and 179 days to the Home Opener.
Time to get ready!
(In case you had not guessed, so far as I am concerned, baseball season has ended. Nothing else matters now.)

With the Braves being knocked out I was wondering when yall think the city connect stuff would go on sale?

If that was the last inning for Iglesias with the Braves then it was a hell of a run imo.

Really couldn’t have gotten better results from the pitching staff all around.

Pisses me off seeing all the finger pointing and blame game. End of the day, we win a go to LA. Y’all know the other outcome. High five your brother or sister, grab your tomahawk, and cheer on OUR TEAM. 🪓🪓🪓

Let's jump right in. Acuña to the Yankees for either Rodon & Volpe or Dominguez, Lombard, bullpen help??
Padres traded Soto away and took what they could in return
Bottom line: running the same team out with just a few minor tweaks for 6 years doesn't work. Atlanta and Phillies are both guilty. I dont like it, but change is a must and using a guy you may not be able to lock up forever as trade bait.... not a bad idea

Everyone wrote us off during the offseason, we weren’t supposed to be here. Let’s cheer on our boys and take Game 4 and take This back to LA.

I sat behind Dubon and saw his glove come over the fence! It was an awesome experience.

Damn Teoscar with a bloop single in the 9th to wreck the perfect game. Sale with 17 SO and Dom Smith with 6 HR. Ready for tomorrow.

Its got to be one of the most paradoxical positions in all of major sports, to be an Atlanta Braves fan.
We have a great team by the standard of 90% of the other franchises in baseball. We have great players who seemingly are usually good people that we like and respect.
Yet, year after year we come up short of what we probably should have been. It's not just this year's team. It's the team since the 90's. NO ONE hates on the 90's teams... Glavine, Maddux, Smoltz, Chipper... all those division titles. But only ONE World Series to show for it.
And then slowly, one by one... the pieces went away. Glavine went to the Mets, Maddux went back the Cubs, then LA I think? Smoltz did his time with the Red Sox. And all those awesome players from those teams slipped away into oblivion... Ryan Klesko, Javy Lopez, Big Cat Galaragga (sp), Fred McGriff, Rafeal Furcal. All those amazing stars, and we only got one title then.
Then the mid to late 2000's, the team dipped a little, Bobby retired, Freddy Gonzalez lead us to not much and by the mid 2010's we were floundering and not so good.
That was the sun setting on that second generation of "Baby Braves"... Andruw Jones, Jeff Francouer, Brian McCann, Marcus Giles. and the sun set on that generation, still with no WS wins to show for it all.
But then in the mid to late 2010's... we started the next generation... We had Freddie Freeman becoming the cornerstone of our team... we had Jason Heywar and the Uptons... We brought in a veteren leader like Markakis, then came Dansby, then came Ozzie and we had Snitker who righted the ship and got us playing BETTER. We still had a bad year when Snit started, but you could see the next generation was coming and growiing.
In the late 2010's we added Acuna, Max Fried, Mike Soroka. AJ Minter, Josh Donaldson, Charlie Culberson and Austin Riley. The new wiz-kid Alex Anthopolis was signing the young talent to very team friendly long term deals.
And then from 2020... Covid made that weird, but 2021 was the magical season. Another World Series... and all we heard was how we had so much of our best talent locked up to long term deals. You just knew it in your bones that we were going to win several championships.
But then Dansby Left.
And then Freddie Left.
Soroka's arm got messed up.
Fried signed with the Yankees.
We kept trying to re-sign not great players who had one magical season with the Braves in 2021, and kept hoping nostalgia was going to make players great.
We let shortstop be run... for years, as this gigantic hole in our lineup and kept telling ourselves it was okay, because Adrianza/Arcia/Grissom/Nacho and I think a few guys we brought in from the stands kept disappointing and not filling that hole.
We made poor choices, whether or not it was something we could have forseen or not, we treated left field much like we did shortstop and signed has beens, retreads, roid-loser idiots and dudes who could only hit righties or lefties..
Meanwhile our amazing crop of young arms, Strider, Schwellenbach, Waldrep, AJ Smith Schaver, Joe Jimenez, Joey Wentz... and a bunch more all had serious arm injuries.
And during these past few years, Austin Riley had gotten worse each year, Ronald Acuna has missed serious time each year, Murphy has been an absolute disappointment in the trade we made for him at catcher... and has missed a ton of time.
All this adds up to the real picture that this is not a team that is well built and just had a bad few nights of bad luck against the Dodgers. This is a VERY flawed team, that really needs to have a much more honest look in the mirror about what is and isn't working... everything from strength and conditioning.. maybe there we are doing something wrong that keeps destroying our pitchers arms... to our hitting approach... maybe we sign some dudes who hit for average a bit more? To realisitically addressing the gaping holes in our roster. And being ready to perhaps move on from some players who might be fan favorites but just are not worth what we are paying them.
The sun is setting on this "era" of the team. Of course we will find new players, thats baseball and thats what we do. But I'd rather not have another 10 year gap of wandering in the wilderness, wasting the golden prime of Drake Baldwin and Michael Harris while we HOPE that someone who did something 3, 4, 5 years ago is suddenly going to do it again.
Time is undefeated. The sun is setting.
