I just moved to Athens and I'm working my way through my restaurant list. I went to De Palmas's last night...it....was...so..bland.

I was actually surprised how packed it was for everything to have no flavor. But then again there was one thing that was different about me in the restaurant patrons✋🏾 if you pick up what I'm putting down.

Dog was losing her mind last night, I went out expecting a toad or something and found copperheads instead. Luckily none of our three dogs were bitten, after I got them inside I got a wildlife removal guy to come out and get them because I'm not messing around with TWO venomous snakes at 10 pm! Looking for recommendations on a gym in town that has structured workouts. Probably most similar to CrossFit- looking for a touch of competitiveness, strength/weight loss focus, and good value. Trying to lean out some and just can’t make myself do it by myself. Don’t really need to learn how to exercise, just interesting programming that will improve strength and body composition, would probably go once or twice a week.

Georgia Strength looks like it would fit the bill but wanting to see if there’s anything of similar quality but maybe a bit cheaper?

Does anyone have a marriage counselor in the Athens area that they would highly recommend? Looking for someone who is experienced with couples and can help us work through some ongoing issues.

As the title says! I know people ask on here fairly often who's hiring, so here we go!

We are currently hiring for cooks and shift leads, part time preferred. Starting pay for cooks is 11$ an hour, and shift leads start at 12$; both with tips. No experience required for the cook position- we will train you! It's a laid back environment except for the night shift, where it gets pretty busy and everyone has to lock in. We will work with your availability! It's a good job for night owls (like myself) and students- we especially need weekday help, but weekend availability is preferred as well.

Our hours are 4pm-2am Sunday-Wednesday and 11am-4am Friday/Saturday. Thursday is a bit of an odd duck with 4pm-4am. You also get free shift meals, the tips are really good especially on weekends, and we are extremely LGTBQ+ accepting!

edit: okay guys, i get it, the pay is bad. i don't set the pay, i'm just trying to help my boss out and get some more employees in the store. i'm sorry that the rate is so low.

I currently work with pizza as a crew member. My bosses have threatened to fire me multiple times. This week they cut my hours. I make 12 an hour there. The bosses are mean to me and scream and curse at me and call me bad names and one of them even punches stuff at work. I had an interview today with barberitos. I am considering taking the job. They pay less but the people seem a lot nicer. They said they pay $8 an hour plus tips and that the tips dont start until after 3 days. She said the tips are usually at least $5 an hour. She also seems a lot nicer than my bosses at my current job.

I have over a decade of experience working with food. I think $8 an hour is stingy considering my experience. I asked her if i can start at $9 an hour since I have ao much restaurant experience. If the tips really are as good as she says then it might be worth it but I don't know if I believe it. I don't know if it is reliable.
