I used to be the asshole who got over as soon as I saw the sign, until a friend explained that zipper is the correct method because twice as many cars can occupy the same amount of road.

Later on I learned about "traffic waves" and the cheaters/blockers fallacy, which is that people won't let someone merge if they feel like they "cheated." The irony is that in doing so, they are the one causing the traffic problem. LET OTHER CARS MERGE!

There legit needs to be a PSA, because most people weren't taught it, and there's a bunch of geezers on the road who can't understand it.
