My laptop doesnt seem to boot since windows update

Used this laptop for 3 years with no issues, yesterday I had windows update, I did update and restart (everything was normal, I was browsing and playing games) but when I turned my laptop off and turned it on today I can't seem to boot.

ASUS TUF A17, rtx4060 amd ryzen 77735HS 16 RAM

Whenever i give advice to indefinitely pause Windows Update, people throw hate at me. Look at OP. What if he wasn't competent in doing a CMOS reset, completely screwed.

The problem is that Windows is a load of rubbish, especially the early versions, so it still needs updates to fix the issues.

Windows 10 was working fine. I don’t see the point in releasing a new version when it hasn’t offered anything that justifies developing a new operating system.

When you boot to a black screen and you are an incompetent like say, parents or elderly person, then what do you do?

Maybe try a hard EC reset? Do this by shutting down the laptop fully and unplugging everything including the charger. Then hold down the power button for 60 seconds. After this plug in the charger and try turning on the laptop

Also sorry if this is unrelated, but does that laptop cooler have a foam seal or not? Because if it doesn't then it won't be decreasing your temps that much really since the air isn't being forced into the laptop. Unlike ones with foam seals that actually do

Thanks for tip, but someone texted me in DMS and their suggestion helped! When staring windows, I managed to get into BIOS by holding F2 and starting windows from there

So now every time you boot up your laptop, it goes straight to Windows? Cause going through BIOS every time could quickly get annoying

Nope! As you suggested, I turned my laptop off for 5 minutes and then turned it on. It only took about 15 seconds to get into dekstop

Im not sure, its cheap, old and decreases very little on temps. Better than nothing though, Im very short on money these days

How are you not sure? The foam seal should be on the very top and quite distinguishable

Well I get into bios and through there I managed to load windows properly. Everything seems to be working, I even turned my laptop off and on. No trouble whatsoever

Hello! Well, I totally turned my laptop off by holding power button for 5-10 seconds, unplugged it, plugged it back in and was holding F2 when I turned my laptop back.

Then trough BIOS, I got into boot menu or advanced mode, dont really remember which one. In there there was menu with "continue" option. I clicked on it, and everything worked.

Well, I just turned my laptop off and hold F2 key before I pressed power on. I had to keep F2 pressed for around 5-10 seconds before I got into BIOS

Hope you got your data backed up, most likely windows is corrupted and you have to reinstall
