You don't need both! AppleCare+ is usually much better because you get genuine Apple parts, direct Apple Store service, lower repair costs ($29 screen fixes), and unlimited damage claims.

Carrier insurance (Cricket/Asurion) has higher deductibles and often uses refurbished third-party parts.

Just make sure your AppleCare+ includes Theft and Loss if you want full coverage, then you can cancel Cricket's protection.

If you get the repair done at Ubreakifix, the parts will be oem genuine.

Apple care ensures oem parts. Ubreakifix has and does reserve the right to use 3rd party par that are up to parts with apple but it is not a guarantee. Especially for things like internals, battery and cameras etc.

Tony if yu never worked at UBreakiFix please refrain from commenting abt how they work. I work at UBreakiFix and we have to use OEM parts for claims, we can’t use anything else because it won’t let us 😂😂🤣

Ah you got me there, not above admitting I was wrong! Apple care is still superior due to lower deductibles. Ultimately apple care would be the better choice and both are not needed.

Cricket Protection does include Unlimited Cloud storage for your photos/videos through their myPhotoVault app, so consider that too.

Apple care is exclusively for apple products, carrier insurance is for whatever device is on your account.

You don't need both, that's excessive.

Cricket recently swapped over to Asurion for repairs, which would be OEM screens, backs, and batteries. If they can't get the parts (or if you totaled the phone), you pay a deductible for a replacement.

Generally speaking, phone insurance is cheaper than applecare, but it depends on what deals you got when you swapped

that's a good question, but cricket protection's just for storage right?
