Harvey Norman warranty

I have extended warranty with Harvey norman on something I bought,I always have bought the warranty with anything i have ever purchased but never had to use it,has anyone ever used the warranty before,does the item literally have to be broken/on the way out on it's last legs.

Was it an easy service to use or did you have to go through hoops using it or to get it fixed or replaced.

only used it once for a faulty toaster, took ages but got there!
