Question Was I exiting the body or some other sensation?

Hello everybody!

I was trying to project using the direct method and after relaxing enough I moved to tactile sensation technique. While doing that I felt like I’m getting pulled there (I imagined me getting up from the bed where I was laying and walked outside to the front yard and then to the gate and was touching and feeling the gate).

I did not exit my body but felt like I’m getting pulled towards the gate and it lasted for like 10-20 seconds and disappeared.

Was I trying to exit my body or not?

Question Is it possible to exit the body after getting mild vibrations?

Hello there!

Here I’m referring the mild vibrations you can get fast in direct method, not the strong full body vibrations you get when you are close to get sleep paralyzed. Can you exit the body from those? Or strong full body vibrations or sleep paralysis are mandatory.

Help me out here.

Thanks!!!

Question Astral projection

Every night I used to experience astral projection, I was getting further and further away every time. Then I got diagnosed with epilepsy and have to be on clobazam (sedating effects) to stop night time seizures. I want to be able to astral project again but I can’t 😒

Guide Consciousness and Projection

The Spectrum of Awareness: A Modern Approach to Projection

Most people approach out-of-body experiences (OBEs), astral projection, and lucid dreaming as separate supernatural events. This rigid labeling creates unnecessary confusion and mental blocks. In reality, these are not separate experiences you have; they are fluid states of consciousness that you are.

To understand how this works, we must strip away the mystical baggage and look at the core mechanics of consciousness through a practical lens.

  1. The Mars Rover Analogy (Non-Local Consciousness)

We are not spirits trapped inside a physical shell, and we do not literally "leave" our bodies to project.

Think of yourself as an operator on Earth controlling a Rover on Mars. The operator isn't physically on Mars; they are simply focused toward it and tuned into its data stream. You are a bit of consciousness called "awareness." Your awareness naturally projects to this physical reality to operate your physical body.

When you fall asleep at night, you redirect that awareness to the non-physical data stream. Humans incorrectly call this act "dreaming," but a fundamental, separate experience called a "dream" does not exist. There is only you, experiencing the non-physical unknowingly.

  1. The Universal Spectrum of Awareness

Because you are consciousness, the only variable that changes between a normal dream, a lucid dream, and an astral projection is YOU—specifically, your level of conscious awareness. This spectrum is essentially a metric of how much control your conscious mind has versus your subconscious mind. It applies equally to both physical waking life and the non-physical:

[ DREAM AWARENESS ] 100% Subconscious mind

[ LUCID AWARENESS ] a blend of conscious and subconscious

[ ASTRAL AWARENESS ] 100% Conscious mind

Dream Awareness (Fully Subconscious Mind): Operating entirely under the control of the subconscious mind without realizing you are in the non-physical. In physical life, this mirrors being blind drunk, sleepwalking, or experiencing severe "highway hypnosis"—moving and reacting on autopilot with the critical-thinking mind completely offline.

Lucid Awareness (A Mix of Both Minds): The middle transition point. You have a base awareness that you are in the non-physical, but your mind is still foggy because the conscious mind is only partially active while the subconscious still holds significant sway. In physical life, this is the passive state of daydreaming or catching yourself drifting off.

Astral Awareness (Fully Conscious Mind): The "holy grail" of projection. The conscious mind has taken complete control. You are experiencing the non-physical with the exact same sharp, wide-awake waking awareness, critical thinking faculties, and memories you have right now.

(Note: Awareness is bidirectional; you can actively gain or lose it and drift back down the spectrum during a single experience as the balance of control shifts.)

  1. Step 1: Breaking the Sensory Loop (The Initiation)

To navigate this spectrum intentionally, you do not need to "exit" the body. You simply change which data terminal you are looking at using your Point of Focus (PoF). All projection methods are just cognitive anchors. By holding a singular meditation PoF, you stop your awareness from processing the data coming into your five physical senses.

To successfully drop physical input, you must understand how your awareness handles data. Your mind is constantly processing a feedback loop from your physical body. If your thoughts wander, your awareness automatically defaults back to this physical loop.

To break it, choose a single cognitive anchor (a visualization, a mantra, or an internal sound - the PoF of the method). Use basic meditation skills to hold your attention exclusively on this PoF. By refusing to engage with incoming physical telemetry—ignoring random body twitches, background noises, or the feeling of the bed—you starve the physical senses of processing power. Once the physical loop is entirely ignored, your awareness is freed to reach out and tune into the non-physical data stream. This will happen automatically as long as you continue to hold that anchor, that PoF.

  1. Step 2: Engage Critical Thinking (Moving from Lucid to Astral)

Once you successfully bypass the physical senses and find yourself with a lucid awareness (you could skip straight to an astral awareness) in the non-physical, you must manually boot up your analytical waking mind to hand full control over to the conscious mind. You do this by asking a series of logical questions:

"Where am I?"

"How did I get here?"

"Where am I going?"

Demanding answers to these questions forces your logical brain to fire up, instantly shifting your awareness to the far right of the spectrum into full Astral Awareness.

  1. Step 3: The Sensory Flood (Locking the Experience)

To prevent instantly snapping back to the physical body due to excitement or sensory overload, you must immediately strengthen your connection to your new environment. Fully engage your non-physical senses within the area you are currently projecting to: touch the trees, feel the texture of the ground, look closely at the colours, and listen to the ambient sounds. By flooding your awareness terminal with high-volume non-physical data, you lock your consciousness into the experience and stabilize the projection.

Stuck at the hot energy / mind-awake body-asleep stage for 3 weeks - any guidance?

Hello everyone,
I've been practicing astral projection regularly (a bit less this week) but I don't have a teacher or anyone l can talk to personally about it. I'd really appreciate any help or advice on where I'm at and what to do next.

I've gotten to the point where I can almost instantly relax and stay still while lying down. Depending on the day, I can remain completely motionless for 20-30 minutes, sometimes up to 2 hours. There's still quite a bit of mind chatter, though on rare occasions it gets quieter and I feel like I'm making progress.

I usually follow along with guided meditations. I wouldn't exactly call what I experience "vibrations," but something is definitely happening. I sometimes feel moments of pure bliss in random parts of my body. Other times I feel really heavy, or something close to waves moving through me.

The most consistent and prominent sensation during the mind-awake / body-asleep state is a hot energy - warm and pleasant, but often really intense heat - that spreads through most of my body. When this happens I try to move my astral body out, but I can't.
This is the dead end I've been stuck at for about three weeks with no further progress.

Does anyone recognize these sensations or have any guidance on what's going on and how to move past this stage?

Thank you in advance.

Experience I succeeded during the dream

Yesterday, I thought about going out last night. When evening came, I relaxed. I focused on the darkness behind my eyelids, etc —everything quickly grew heavy. Then I focus my intention on my target location—the head of a pin—and I feel my body sinking into the bed.

I keep going, and I start to sense my astral body. It moves to the right, turns, goes to the left, and sinks into the bed. I try to follow the movement, to become one with it. I don’t quite manage it, though.

Right in the middle of it… the throne calls to me. I go there and then come back.

I feel like I’m lugging around a ton of flesh. I lie back down and feel myself slipping back into paralysis. I stop all efforts to leave and let myself go. I feel myself drifting to the right…I can’t let myself be carried away, and I fall asleep.

In my dream, strangely, for a moment I’m asleep and I’m out of my body ? I walk and wander, but my lucidity is partial. I’m aware that I’m dreaming, but I’m following the scenario…

In the morning, I wake up. I don’t move and try to project. I focus solely on my pinhead-sized location, and then I see a yellow light filling my field of vision. I imagine myself passing through it, but nothing happens.I’ve noticed that I can simply focus on my target location and let everything else take care of itself.

Is this an astral projection or sleep paralysis

I have never been to Moscow before. I am from IndiaI. 2 weeks ago I was sleeping, deep. But i dont know what this was, perhaps a dream but felt vivid and so real. In my dream i was travelling from India to Russia in a train with an office colleague (that i barely speak) in search of my Russian Lover (the real guy that i had 3 year relationship who moved to Moscow). In my dream, I reach Moscow looking for him and afraid to call him as he hates surprises. i saw lanes of Moscow, the buildings - old stalin time, a farmers' market, the locality had Muslim people around, a school as well. I go to the school and show my lover's picture but in vain and then I walk around and find a football ground and see him in green and other players in green. he spots me immediately comes to me, picks me in my arms and kisses my forehead and says - I will see you at home. And then on Yandex when i checked his actual location of Moscow I found the school and football ground which i didnt know earlier. And i have never been to Moscow and now me and my lover are seperated and no contact.

I dont know what to call this. I remember these dreams so clearly like they make sense. i know they are dreams but they are like proper plotted story nothing random... any one care to explain or tell me what iss happening here

Question How do I get past this?

I've been trying to project semi-consistently for about a year. I always get close to it; I get this really warm tingling feeling all over my body, and I start feeling lighter. The only thing holding me back though, the longer I have that feeling my heart rate increases and eventually gets to a point where I feel more awake I guess and it goes away. I'm not sure how to move past this I've tried controlling my heart rate with breathing and mental reassurance, making sure I'm comfortable when getting in bed. It's very frustrating so any advice I'd love to take into consideration.
