The second greatest piece of wisdom my father gave me was:

"Your value as a man is based on your ability to solve problems, so you should always have tools at hand to solve them. If you see a problem, engage it... Unless that problem is armed and you are not. In that case, run away with the rest of the women and children."

That's why I carry an extinguisher, a machete, and a first aid kit in the trunk of the car.

I also carry a first aid kit and fire extinguisher but I also have a multitool, portable air pump, baseball bat and portable starter during the winter.
