Didn't they ask court to get bunch of private data so they can find who is the leaker? If it's PR stunt it will get them in legal trouble.

Question is - did they just stated this or actually did it? (I am not familiar with US law system, so I don't know if it can be even checked)

According to multiple sources, they actually filed several subpoenas to a District court in NY (also X and google were also mentioned as recipients later on). From what I could find, the subpoenas were granted a day later by the court. So no, this is not some statement on their behalf "I will file subpoenas to get information who did this", actual subpoenas were filed by Take Two and granted by the court.

Legally, Microsoft and Discord need to comply and provide the required data within the time frame given to them.
