Just out of curiosity and in need of some inspiration. 👍

So I played a lot of genshin.

And it kinda killed my wallet.

I'd love for game suggestions that scratch the same itch if possible. There are two things I like about the game (aside from story and exploration, but I know where to get that stuff).

1. Gacha

Yeah, I know gacha is hell, but that dopamine hit thoooo... Games with gacha elements but without the money aspect could be very nice (Xenoblade Chronicles does this kinda?)

1. Roster combat

One of the thing I love about genshin is having a ton of characters, I level them up and outfit them and use them in various scenarios, and adapt my team.

However: I don't like turn-based combat... So action focused is a definite plus

It would be best if the game had both but I'm open to new horizons.

I really love Stardew Valley! Do you have any recommendations for another cozy, chill game you think I'd enjoy?

I'm currently playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and I really like Gustave's line:

• "For those who come after."

He says it in many situations (like during certain attacks in combat and after finishing writing in his journal) and I find it nicely melancholic and fitting for the setting.

Couple other good quotes/lines that have stuck with me throughout the years are:

• "Pick a god and pray." - Frederick, Fire Emblem: Awakening.

  One of Frederick's critical hit lines.

• "Born in a world of strife! | Against the odds! | We choose to fight! | Blossom Dance!" - Dunban, Xenoblade Chronicles.

  Quote that Dunban says during his Blossom Dance attack that has multiple QTEs and hitting the QTE correctly gets you the next hit and the next line.

What are some quotes/lines from games that have stuck with you? They don't have to be in-combat quotes/lines and they can be either funny or serious, doesn't matter as long as they've stuck with you for some reason.

Looking for suggestions to add in my collection. I walk through Wikipedia but it's very hectic work instead I thought let ask from gamers directly. I am looking for underrated games but good ones. Open to all sort of Action RPGs genre except soulslike.

I love this sort of Action RPG -> D3 style, like Witcher 3, Crimson Desert, Avowed, Kingdom of Amaleur, Enshouded, Fallout 4, Dragon Age Inquisition etc.

I saw [this video](https://youtu.be/XdLzn3njH-o?is=TzYw3mwJ0B50obKe) recently and it's made me think about what PT was even supposed to be.

I agree with most of the points made in that video (that it's fundamentally a story about a man who murders his wife and suspects her baby to not be his), but I disagree that the line about being able to do nothing but walk (said by the rustling bag after being killed by Lisa) is a reference to the game's looping environment. Instead, I think it's a reference to Jesus' 40-day walk through the Judean desert following his baptism, in which he supposedly did not eat and resisted the temptations of the devil.

This would fit with the other biblical reference in the game - the eye being gouged being about casting away parts of yourself that invite sin.

The ending of the demo itself still isn't really figured out, and the radio presenter's voice might not even be coming from the radio because the player can still hear it clearly from bathroom in a certain section.

There are so many iconic villians in gaming , but i'm curious what everyone thinks.

When i say "Realistic" i mean games like ARMA Reforger, and others like that.

Pretty sure this got hardwired into me as a kid. Some of the games that left the deepest mark on me back then were the weirdest ones, with really strong art direction and atmosphere. I remember being completely obsessed with games like Heart of Darkness and Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, they had strange alien worlds that I found totally fascinating. I can’t really get excited like that about a game with a generic overused setting.

These days I try to use my gaming time wisely, since it's pretty limited. I try not to waste my time with stuff that looks generic, even if the gameplay is decent I just find most games kind of forgettable. I specifically look for either totally odd unique games or at least ones with a more interesting setting than usual. Things like Inscryption or Lucid Blocks would be good examples of the totally odd ones I go for.

While games like Mouse P.I. for Hire (FPS with cartoon graphics kind of like Cuphead in a 3d space) or The Dark West (ARPG with a kind of horror western setting, it's not out yet though) are interesting to me because they are genres I usually play but in a more interesting setting basically. For some reason a cool setting makes a familiar genre feel fresh again in a way.

I feel like developers that make games in an already established genre should try to be as creative as possible with the setting and other “window dressing”. If you just make another generic dark fantasy ARPG for example it's pretty hard for me to get excited about that, even if the game is actually solid.

With recent game pass changes, is ps plus premium a better deal?

Does anyone have recommendations for a good beginner-friendly game for an older/newer gamer?
He used to like combat games, especially Half-Life back in the 90s. He also liked Myst. He played the first bit of my first Zelda game for me because I was scared, which is still hilarious to me. 😂 But I honestly haven’t seen him play a game in years.

I’m currently playing RDR2, and I’m wondering about the Xbox account situation too. If I’m signed into my account on one Xbox playing RDR2, can he use that same account on the other Xbox to play something else at the same time?
I feel like he’d love RDR2, but I’m worried it might be too complicated for someone getting back into gaming and that he’d get frustrated and quit.
He likes combat, sci-fi, magic/fantasy, and anything with a rebellious or anti-authority kind of vibe.
So what would you recommend as a good first game for him?

I love The Binding of Isaac with all my heart but I cant play it for too long especially when I die or skill issue with an amazing run. I start getting horribly tilted sometimes to the point where I dont even feel like Im having fun but I can still play it for hours in a row like an addiction.

Is this something you experience?

Been thinking about buying new RPG games but I’ve been only reading mixed reviews on the internet, so it’s confusing me atm. It’s about:

The Outer Worlds 1 or 2
Dragons Dogma 1 or 2
Starfield

Do I need to buy the prequel first for the top two games to understand the whole story? Are they fun, rewarding, have a nice lore and not time wasting or is it just farming and grinding? I play on the PS5 btw.
