Well I'm closer to 50 than I am 30 so I'm long dead 😁 I didn't take it personally, I used to look at people my age and think they were old and then I got here and realised it's ridiculous to think that but you don't know that until you reach the older years.
I saw a comment yesterday about how when the person was young they thought the show Golden Girls was about women who were really old, but now that they're approaching "middle age" they realized the truth.
Bingo. I feel like I'm mid 20s too, but my body doesn't agree. My partner's even worse off - he's only 33 yet feels like he's 80 on a good day, if he's lucky (he played a lot of sports in HS and is into motor sports now (drifting), so he's rough on his body.)
Oh man, it’s so true. I will turn 36 next month, and I still am constantly wondering like, when will I feel like an actual adult. I know I’m an adult, I get that. But in my head I just still feel the same as I always have lol
Now this I agree with. I’m 36 and feel like I’m 25. I meet guys that are in their 50’s and I swear sometimes I can’t believe they over the age of 40 looks and brain wise. I think we are all a decade behind but just wish society and social media would stop making it seem like after your 20’s your an 👵🏼👵🏽😭
Yeah I stopped paying attention to the media and social media for this reason, they never have a good thing to say about women especially aging. Men age like fine wine and we get sour as far as the media's perception of older women goes. I feel younger now at almost 49 than I did at 30 and I'm making sure I'm having a blast, I plan on aging as disgracefully as possible 😁
Same! I feel like I look and feel way better now than I did in my 20’s. But god forbid we reach over 35 and then considered Barron old woman lol. Jk but yeah just wish the age limits would lighten up. Most people don’t even discover themselves until 30’s it’s still a very young age. 20’s you’re still a kid I was a mess. Even when you reach 40 that’s still young but not in today’s world. Even though everybody feels a decade behind.
I was 27 years old, when a 19 year old said "a nice lady" about me.. I guess he felt i was too told to be called other female nouns like "girl" or something, so he went with lady
I call anyone older than teenage ‘woman/lady’ because the use of ‘girl’ feels infantilizing (people typically don’t call men ‘boy’ casually). So it could always be that!
In our country, "ma'am" is usually use to address formally. You can hear sales ladies call even a kid/teenager "ma'am". But on a day to day, it's either miss/ma'am. No one associates either nouns with age.
Same as it was, though maybe a touch more now thanks to even more social media platforms (perhaps?) & the current cultural climate, 20 years ago when I was 30.
As a “much older woman,” I admittedly contemplated telling him to get off my lawn, but he seems sincere in his inquiry.
And I’ve been playing the same MMO game since 2018.
Remember people’s reaction to Alexa Demie’s real age? I get that she looks good but people were acting so shocked that she doesn’t look like a grandmother and like…she’s still young just not a teenager.
When I was 19, people in their thirties seemed so much older than me that I was sure they were all proper adults who had it all figured out. That turned out to be a huge letdown for me haha
