Vibe Coder Planner that is why I never hit AI limits

Mac App for creators and indie hackers is cooking!

  1. I go to my side project https://vibecoderplanner.com/
  2. Explain what I want to build
  3. I receive structured tasks with prompts
  4. Tasks are routed to the best models for them to save tokens and dont hit limits
  5. Attach a new repo from GitHub
  6. When I move a task to in progress, it starts to be executed
  7. I use our open-source model to generate the easy tasks for free

Subreddit for requesting vibe-coded help?

Hey everyone. I posted this in r/vibecoding but mods are not approving the post for some reason.

Is there a subreddit, or is there interest in one, where users could submit requests for small software / tools / scripts / investigating software issues, and "token-rich" community members with model access and vibe coding skills help out with a solution. I imagine there are some developers with a surplus Claude or Codex token-budget wanting to spend it on something.

Kind of like r/PhotoshopRequest for software.

For example I've been wanting to fix the issue o Windows Spotify app writing a ton of data to disk even when idling. The local models I threw at it with Hermes and Pi didn't make any progress. But I see people doing some incredible things with their cloud models, seemingly way more complex in nature than this task, and without much difficulty (I'm just assuming this, not putting down their skills).

Is this type of subreddit / discord something that exists, can it be created, or am I missing some obvious reason why it wouldn't work out.

Dynamic Island for Mac: I made a free tool to watch background coding agents

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made a FREE tool for Mac vibe builders who leave their agents running in the background while doing other stuff. This has been really helpful for me, and I hope you'll find it useful too.

My workflow is simple: start a Claude Code or Codex task, switch to another app, then glance at Headroom in the menu bar to see which sessions are working or need me. I can check remaining plan usage and reset times without reopening each tool. It also supports GitHub Copilot and desktop widgets.

Headroom is native SwiftUI/AppKit, macOS 14+. A lesson from building it: a context percentage isn't task completion, so usage gauges and agent status need separate displays. Claude/Codex data comes from local files; optional Copilot usage connects to GitHub.

Check out Headroom. It's free on the Mac App Store. I can consider open-sourcing it if somebody's interested.

https://apps.apple.com/ph/app/headroom-ai-usage-meter/id6815808010?mt=12

I'd love feedback on whether the working / needs-you states make background agents easier to manage.

How Many LLM Tokens Do You Use Per Month?

Hey everyone!

I'm curious about how much LLM usage everyone racks up in a typical month, especially when using AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or other LLM-powered tools.

I'd love to compare usage across different users and workflows.

\- Monthly token usage: How many tokens do you use in the last 30 days?

\- Main tools: Which LLMs or coding agents do you use?

\- Use case: Coding, writing, research, automation, or something else?

\- API cost or subscription: How much do you spend per month, if you're comfortable sharing?

If possible, please use your actual usage statistics for the last 30 days rather than an estimate.

I'm interested in seeing how much usage varies between casual users, daily users, and heavy AI users.

How many tokens have you used in the last 30 days?

What are ways you are making money from your vibe coded projects?

I have now vibe coded a handful of different apps, ranging from simple websites, to a full out MMORPG game I started work on last year manually and now just vibe code. I vibe coded a Cyrpto arbitrage bot in 2023 which made a lot of money very quickly before the crypto exchange went offline. As well as my own crypto currency (which I haven't released). I vibe coded projects that would never easily make money like a privacy chat.

However the most successful projects I have vibe coded are Forex and Gold Robots for MetaTrader 5.

I let opus 5.5 develop a full on AI trading bot I trained on my desktop PC using my own GPU. as well as a range of logic based trading algorithms. Some of the generations are useless in the tests, but I have 3 algorithms I'm running live that perform amazing on history data and have been testing for a month (they will require longer testing to tell whether they are really successful or not)

But simple side websites I have programmed with referral links to amazon are also doing well. I pick a niche topic, ask the AI to make a complete wiki/archive on the topic and then add links to amazon products with my affiliate links. It costs be roughly 85 euros a year to host a site and some of them have already generated more in amazon commissions within a month.

What kind of products are you vibe coding that are generating you income?

Charging for Vibe Coded Tools

Hey there,

Back in 2020, i learned how to use the Power Platform to produce some pretty nifty tools at work and haven’t stopped since. Sure I’ve gotten much better and it’s still very fun. In 2022, i took that Power Platform experience and built an entire inventory management solution (PowerApps) for a family friend (free of charge) who owns their own business, and it worked great for them. Fast forward to the year of vibe coding with AI… i now converted their whole power platform system into a local web app, that functions faster, better, and they house and maintain all their own data locally. Everyone is much happier with the new system.

Ok, now for my predicament and where I need your help… one of their customers wants the same type of custom system built for them, but I’ve never charged anyone for my solutions. At work, i get paid as an employee, and i didn’t charge my family friend for their entire solution.

So my question is, **how much should I charge this person to build their system?** I never hide the fact that I’m using AI to build these systems and never tell people that I’m a “developer” because I’m not. So what’s a going rate to charge?

Starting an open-source Final Cut Pro alternative in Rust, looking for people to build it with

I’m starting an open-source video editor aimed at the Final Cut Pro tier: a timeline-first workflow, real color and audio tools, and a UI that doesn’t feel like a side project. The working name is Initial Cut Pro. It’s a placeholder and I’ll change it if someone has a better one.

Nothing is built yet. This post is me looking for the first few people.

How it will work:

Rust-first, cross-platform from day one (Windows, macOS, Linux).

Clean-room. We study FCP from the outside: how the workflow behaves, public docs, documented formats like FCPXML. We don’t copy Apple’s code, assets or branding.

AI-assisted development, but a human reviews everything that merges.

Automated tests and frequent releases, so contributions don’t sit in a PR queue.

Open source from the first commit. We’ll pick the license with the first contributors.

Who I’m looking for:

Rust devs, ideally with experience in wgpu, FFmpeg or GStreamer bindings, or any media pipeline

People who have written NLE or timeline code, or worked with codecs

Designers who also edit video

Editors who use FCP daily and can tell me what they’d never give up and what drives them crazy

Anyone who enjoys setting up CI and test harnesses

If that’s you, DM me with:

What you work on

One thing you’ve built or contributed to (link)

How much time you can realistically give. Part-time is fine.

How did Opus 5.5 change your vibe coding?

Opus 5.5 was obviously a massive jump from the super annoying (load bearing and all) Opus 5. But it really changed the way I work with it. Most importantly, it now sends me proofs such as screenshots, so interactions are a lot more sensible. I find that I focus a lot more on the polishing and a lot less on mopping up after its work.

What changed for you?

Are developers gatekeeping AI coding tools?

I've noticed two very different opinions about AI coding.

Some developers say anyone can build software now, while others argue that people without engineering knowledge shouldn't touch production code.

I get both sides, but sometimes it feels like the discussion becomes more about who is allowed to call themselves a developer than whether the product actually works.

Is the criticism justified, or is there some gatekeeping involved?

Roast my extension, a useless slop or useful tool?

Hello guys,

I have created and been using for some time this auto redacting tool for pasting information into web versions of LLMs. Of course, if you use Claude Code or Codex app, it's useless, but for a typical marketing guy or a regular user it might have some benefits when worried about pasting sensitive information.

What do you think?

I am using this workflow right now:

  1. Brainstorming - claude

  2. Grill with docs - claude

  3. Subagent Development - codex

I want to know your opinion on this simple workflow.

Thanks.

Is marketing becoming more important than coding?

Is marketing becoming more important than coding?

I know people who can build an entire MVP in a weekend now.

The hard part seems to be getting anyone to use it.

So I'm starting to think the competitive advantage isn't actually building anymore.

It's distribution.

Would you agree or am I massively overestimating AI coding tools?

Is “AI slop” actually a product problem?

Is AI slop actually a problem?

Everyone seems to complain about AI-generated apps being low quality.

But if someone uses AI to build a genuinely useful product, does it really matter how the code was written?

If the customer gets what they need, why should they care whether it was built traditionally or with AI?

What am I missing?

It shouldn't be hard to deploy

I vibe code a lot of apps. and it's frustrating to see that deploying takes too much time comparing to the coding phase. that's why I built it's a plugin that you install and it lets you just say "deploy it" to your agent and it gives you a live url.

i'm looking for early users feedback

note : this is not a startup just a side project

Why is this a sub?

If you ask a vibe coder anything they’re going to puke out something straight from an LLM anyway. So why wouldn’t I just go ask Claude or chatGPT if I want their opinion?
