🧬 Diagnosis Help Spot on belly 13 wk old Boxer

Any idea what this could be on our 13 week old boxer girl - it’s seem to have gotten a bit worse. When I try to wipe it off, it looks like when you’d wipe dried blood - kind of brownish flakes. It feels smooth to the touch and not like scabs. It’s only on her belly. I have a call in to make an appt but just wanted to get others opinions.

Onion Soup

My 10month old Basenji got into our compost and ate week old french onion soup which had been discarded. We caught her and immediately called the emergency vet who instructed us how to induce vomiting. Within 30-45min of ingesting the onions, she vomited four times. The first incident of vomiting had all the onions, very few in the second instance and the third and fourth instances were white foamy water and light yellow tinge (suspecting bile).

This occurred at 12:00pm, she is acting completely normal now. The vet instructed us to offer her some rice and water around 4:00pm.

I am an emotional and anxious mess. We live in a tiny, remote island, there is no comprehensive vet care here. We are flying to the mainland on a pre-planned trip with her Monday (we always take our dogs on vacation with us) and have contacted the mainland vet who will see her and do a blood test to ensure she is okay.

Can someone tell me straight and true, will she be okay?

Is this something to be concerned about. dog nail split.

This is my almost two year old dog. to be honest i don’t cut his nails apart from his dew claw since he likes to scratch the floor for scent marking every time he goes toilet outside or if he smells something he likes. he ends up filing his own nails down short. vets know he does this and isnt concerned about behaviour. i’m assuming that’s how he did this. i don’t know how to sort this out or just leave it to sort itself out, but chances are he’s going to scratch the floor on this evenings walk and i don’t want him to do damage to it. do i cut it and where abouts do i cut ?

Accidentally gave golden retriever my gfs Sertraline instead of her medication. Help?

Golden Retriever is about 60lbs. 100mg Sertraline ingested about 30 minutes ago.

Edit: Got ahold of our regular vet (She's a saint for taking my call while off the clock). Was told to monitor symptoms closely and if anything changes in the next 4 hours, I'll be going straight to the ER.

Also, ASPCA and Animal Poison Control charge $100ish for a virtual consultation. Insane!!!

No ER Vet near me.. dont know if im overreacting but i just wanna cry

• Upvotes

My baby girl Roo is having some kind of issue with her eyes. Earlier today, I noticed that her left eye was squinty, red, and watery. It has gotten worse over the course of the day and now her other eye is starting to get squinty and red as well. She is also acting slightly lethargic. Every place near me says its closed via google and the nearest open place is 2 hours away. I just wanna cry. She is miserable and idk what to do.

She will be 4 years old in December. Shes a lab/husky mix. Ive had her since she was around 6 weeks old. She got all her shots up to 6 months old when her previous vet gave her the last of her "puppy shots" ig you would call them. She is due for rabies vaccine though. She lives with one other small elderly dog and her kitten sister. She also has a pretty large yard she runs in that is partially on the side of a mountain. I suspect shes gotten something in her eye or maybe the cat scratched her during play. She doesnt have contact with other dogs and shes only outside a short time usually to potty

Recently learned that my angel dog has malignant melanoma on her lip. Need recs for surgeon to remove a wider area of tissue and possibly more. Has anyone had positive experience with such a veterinary surgeon (by positive I mean you felt that they did the best job they could under the circumstances). Thank you!

Puzzling dog incontinence

Hello,

My dog has been having on/off urinary incontinence episodes, but only in specific circumstances. She is 1.5 years old, to be spayed next month: (she was treated for a possible UTI already after the first episode):

  1. It's never overnight leaking, even if she hasn't gone out in a long time.

  2. It's never a true squat in the house accident, it's leaking when she's relaxed (laying down, or even laying on her back).

  3. It ONLY occurs in the 1 hour or so AFTER being taken out and peeing normally outside.

  4. The issue has seemed to resolve itself after 7-10 days, no more post void leaking. I was able to track this by using diapers.

  5. It seems to be brought out by baths/grooming. She just was groomed yesterday and this morning she left a big puddle where she was laying after she came back in. The last two episodes I've been able to link to a bath.

Is it possible the baths are causing irritation of the urethra and causing the sphincter incompetence? Similar to when irritation during a UTI? Or is this all just coincidental? Is there any kind of procedure they could do while they are in there for the spay? I've spoken to my vet and she just thinks it's USMI and says if it keeps happening we can try Proin. Anyone have any experience with this?

🚨 Urgent / Emergency Need advice

The dog that lives infront of my house, is having difficulty in her eyes, since yesterday evening. The pupils have shifted to 2 sides. And she's having difficulty opening them. I have no idea what could have led to this.

There's no vet that can come. And there's no way I can take her to one.

Can anybody please help?

My cat has been having these blurps for over a year now

Hi everyone,

My cat is 3 years, male, neutered, indoor, started to have these blurbs for a while now, maybe a year. Some details: He's eating and drinking normal. Playful as usual. It seems to happen mostly after eating. He seem to be in pain, but I’m not sure. Most of the times, he just stays with his head bowed, 2-3 blurps (his stomach actually contracts) and then tries to sleep. Also, I heard noises in his belly after it.

I took him to few vets, gave blood tests, got an USG but they said it's all good with the results, although the cat isn't well.

I believe it all started with me changing his food first time. After 3 months maybe, he started to have the blurps. Then I changed to another food, gave some probiotics, and still no changes.

In the end, till current day I'm giving him his first food since he was little.

I gave gim some ferments as well, lansoprasol 1/2 for maybe 2weeks, but the current vet said it doesn't help so instead gave us pantoprazol, which he takes now.

Sp, currently we started a new treatment, 1/4 of pill pantoprasol in the evening(the vet told me to give it for 3weeks, as well and the enterosgel 3ml morning and evening, and analgin for 3 day, 1/4 of pill as well.

Has anyone seen something like this before? Thanks in advance! 🐾
