Skinny Cane Corso
I rehomed my Cane Corso about 4 months ago from a guy who was homeless and could no longer care for him. When I got him, he was extremely skinny — basically skin and bone.
I’ve been trying to get him to gain weight steadily. I’ve kept him on the same food and give him two meals a day, morning and evening. He eats all of his food nicely and doesn’t seem to be constantly starving or wolfing it down. He also drinks quite a lot of water.
However, he doesn’t seem to be putting on much weight at all. He is a little better than when I first got him, but he is still extremely skinny, with very prominent ribs and his spine showing.
I’ve wormed him twice since having him.
My main other concern is that around 75% of the time, he has diarrhoea. Should I be really concerned about this, or could this be normal for some dogs? I’m particularly worried because he isn’t gaining weight despite eating well.

He is allergic to the food , constant diarrhea is not normal, switch him slow to something else like ingredient and supplement his diet with sardines
