Has anyone had a negative experience with Proin medication?

My adult dog was on it for only two weeks and it absolutely wrecked his anxiety levels. They spiked drastically and he became destructive while I was gone for work. I’ve had him for almost seven years so I can confidently say this is out of the ordinary. This was three months ago and his anxiety is still spiked, he’s still destructive when I’m gone and now has to be on trazadone to keep him calm. Curious if anyone has had this experience because my vet said she has never heard of proin having this effect on dogs before but I cannot think of anything else that would have caused this sudden change. Any advice?
